3  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: Hair: Dread Falls and Dreaded Extensions on: August 05, 2008 10:40:56 PM
when you say "boil", you do mean "steam" right? You don't actually submerge the dreads into boiling water but run it against the steam, yes?

I just want to get this right in case you've found a better method of sealing kanekalon then having to stand in front of a tea kettle all day. Hehe.

P.S. your dreads look great! Nice and fat, awesome job!

no, you do actually submerge them in the water. It's much quicker!

6  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: what do you wish people told you before you became a vegetarian/vegan on: August 01, 2008 03:41:56 AM
Wow, I have just sat here and read the entire thread!!! I wish to add that when I decided to go veg again after a couple years of relapse, I thought all the people who'd always known me as an omni would start treating me different and special, and to my pleasant surprise, they haven't! My mother in law was just like, "Oh, really? Okay." I am surprised at how easy it has been to revert, and how easy it has been having an omni husband. And he doesn't evevn care that I have only cooked meat for him once in the past month! It's so much easier than I had thought it was going to be! Hopefully I can convince him to give up the animals too. I am thinking about putting photos of happy cows and chickens in the dining area.... lol! I kid, I kid. but, seriously.
7  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: bed caddy/organizer for my college dorm! on: August 01, 2008 12:09:37 AM

8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Melting crayons! on: August 01, 2008 12:02:48 AM
This would be a great thing to do for my baby nephew. He's like 8 mos old, and I wanted to get him some of those crayola crayons for babies that are kind of egg shaped so babies can grip them, but they are like six bucks! You can get a new box of Crayola Crayons at wal-mart right now for $.22 with all their back to school stuff, so I could just grab a few boxes of those and make a set of crayons for him!
9  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: the craziest pencil holder EVER. on: July 31, 2008 11:59:09 PM
when I first saw it, I automatically thought of melting, but you're right, it would be hard to get it/ keep it in that shape if you had melted it! It's hard to make tall skinny things with melting, short wide things are much easier!

I love the flowers, they are so cute! I love how this is simple, and traditional!
