I recieved my stuff today!! And I thought it was my birthday for a second, I was so excited.
Here it is!

She sent an awesome card with this on the front. You have no idea how much I LOVE IT when people draw meows not purring on my packages. I cant get over how cute that cat is, either.

Here you can see the card, the cat (again) and the beautiful ribbon bookmark. It's really big, which is perfect for the art books I'll be studying over this next semester.

And finally:

A GREAT BIG pink book bag!! This is the perfect size for lugging around the horrific amount of books and cds I always check out. It has a super big pocket there on the side, I hope you can see it. And the coolest part--its reversable!! I wish I had gotten a picture of that inside fabric because it is beautiful.
Thanks, RosebrideJaya!!!

Okay! Finally!
Here's the AWESOME purse that Jazzybelle crocheted for me (please ignore the ugly tupperware background):

My song was All is Full of Love by Bjork and I think she did a wonderful job.She added little jewels and beads and what-nots all over the front and the back is striped with the different colors she used in the front here (I just realized I forgot to take a picture of the back. Sorry!). It's lined with black fabric. It really is gorgeous and I LOVE it. Thank you so much!! I forgot to take a picture of what I sent, but I'll leave that to Jazzybelle to describe.  Wink

Okay, finally, I was able to upload my pictures, so here they are!!
I forgot to get before pictures on both of these (booo!) but you can imagine what they were.

Here's the picture I found that jessicakes sent back to me:

I had to take the picture at an angle because the light would be absorbed in the glass eyes. She's as creepy as she was in the first place, but after the makeover, she's honest about it. Jessicakes gave her highlights, a sun/moon to bathe by, some bat-friends, and a nice fire to keep her toesies warm. Thanks!!

And here's what I sent back to Jessicakes. Before, it was just a beach-scene velvet painting. But now:

The whale is quoting John Donne: "Who casts not up his eye to the sun when it rises? but who takes off his eye from a comet when that breaks out? Who bends not his ear to any bell which upon any occasion rings? but who can remove it from that bell which is passing a piece of himself out of this world? No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main."
S/he has those blue doll eyes and embroidered water spouts (water spouts??). I didnt hear back from Jessicakes but I hope she liked it!

Yeay! I'm glad you liked it!
I finally uploaded a bajillion pictures so I'm gonna gets to posting them all now.

(sorry for the glare in both of these, but its hard to help)

(As arranged on my ipod cozy) These are from kat_penguino. They are beautiful! I particularly love the teacup and the dandelion-flower. But especially the little birds that look like they are talking to eachother.

(As arranged on my bus schedule) Here's the buttons from j-me. Nine! They're really awesome. And by the way, did you know that my website was called red pug?? Because the red sweatered pug BLEW MY MIND when I first saw it.

Thanks guys!! I am EXTREMELY happy with my new pins!!

17  Re: Stitchmarker Swap Round 2 - Gallery in The Swap Gallery by The Meow Wont Purr on: June 09, 2005 09:23:57 PM
I got my super awesome stitch markers from Onthinice today and they are GREAT!

I got two fantastic bags with different kinds of markers in them and a super sweet note!

The first was a whitebag with little gold polka-dots--so cute! These are the pretty swirly wire markers. 10 total!
I dont think you can see them very well in this picture but they have AWESOME beads and perfect wirework. Also, I have to say that I'm in love with the little bag. Is it ribbon? I want to frame it, it makes me so happy.

And here's a picture of the black drawstring bag with ornate copperish wire markers. I LOVE THEM.
I'm definitely going to have to use one of these pretty things for a rear-view-mirror charm whenever I get my new car. The only problem will be picking the perfect one!

(Gotta go die from happiness now)

18  Re: Problems with Badge-A-Minit in Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions by The Meow Wont Purr on: March 12, 2005 09:35:04 PM

This one?
I have this press. I've found that sometimes, when you are pushing down the red piece, mine is difficult and I have to hear two 'clicks', to make sure that the red piece is completely parrallel to the blue(does that make sense?). If it isnt, the plastic wont be completely snapped into place for the 'final squishing'. Thats one thing I've noticed. Also, keep in mind the thickness of whatever image paper you are using. I've found that certain papers are too thick and making any buttons with them result in the plastic sticking out or the edges around the face of the button to fold.
Hope that helps!

19  Re: Star Shaped Baby Blanket in Crochet: Completed Projects by The Meow Wont Purr on: March 10, 2005 05:28:46 PM
Alright... a couple of questions.....
My blanket does not lie flat. It is impossible. This is what it looks like when I try.

So, I folded it in half. If it was destined to lie flat, it would have folded in half perfectly. Well, this is what it looks like when you fold it:

A whole point is added sticking out of it! I have counted and counted, and I have the correct number of stitches, thats not whats wrong. But I just cant figure it out.
This third picture is an example of the extra point sticking out---the blanket is laying as flat as it can, without that fifth point.

Any ideas??  Cry
Should I just continue on, or stop now? What do you think?

hiptobeme--thats right, the shells go in the point's ch 2 space. (at least I'm assuming, or I'm doing it wrong, too!)
I have a question, too, since mine seems to be acting funny, as well, and I dont know if I'm doing something wrong or if its the hook I'm using (K!) or what.... my 'dips' (the opposite of the points?) dont seem to be visible at all..they're barely distinguishable from the regular stiches. The pattern says 'sk 2 dc'... and what I'm doing is just jumping that space. I know that I have the right number of stitches per row, too. Should I really be skipping another dc? and if I did, where would that next dc go?

I've had to start all over about four times, because I didnt like the look of the row 1 spaces.. if I have to start all over, I won't be too sad; I just want this to be great when I finish!
Example of non-visible sk 2 dcs:

Overall (should it look like this?):
