1  Felt Underwood Typewriter in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by blueblythe on: August 03, 2007 06:27:22 PM
Here is my latest felt creation, an Underwood typewriter. The typewriter it is modeled on was my boyfriend's great-great-grandfathers. It took me several weeks of non stop sewing to finish. The felt is hand dyed and the details are embroidered. I added some real screws that I tarnished in vinegar. The roller rotates so that a piece of paper can be added with some typed words on it.
I hope you like it!!

2  Embroidered Plush Nintendo System in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by blueblythe on: June 25, 2007 04:12:09 PM
Crazy me thought it would be a good idea to sew a Nintendo. I hand dyed the felt, hand sewed it and embroidered all the details. It took me 2 weeks!!!! I hope you like it.

I made the system with an opening cover so that games can be put in and removed and I made Mario 3 and Duck Hunt games:

I made a controller and a gun that can both be plugged in and unplugged:

And here's where my obsessive compulsive behavior comes in, I made a television with interchangeable Mario and Duck Hunt screen shots on them that are attached to the tv with velcro:

3  How to make a delicious smoothie (using a felt blender!) in CHALLENGE 18 ENTRIES by blueblythe on: May 06, 2007 07:14:41 AM

Delicious Fruit Smoothie

Roughly chop a cup of your favorite fruit.
Here we are using bananas and strawberries.

Add to your blender with 1/2 cup soy milk and 1/4 cup of yogurt.

Blend and enjoy!

Thanks so much for all the great feedback!!!!!!!

Here's a larger pic of the sewing machine:

I didn't realise the other pictures would be so small.

To the person who asked about the felt, I use industrial felt which is quite a bit thicker than craft felt. It holds shape quite well but it only comes in white so I had to dye it for the cameras.

6  Felt cameras and sewing machine *Added TYPEWRITER page 10* in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by blueblythe on: March 08, 2007 05:05:30 PM
I made my boyfriend a felt camera for Valentine's Day, he's a camera nut. The back of the camera opens up so you can see the film. Now I'm addicted to sewing everyday objects. Here are some pictures of my recent pieces.

I'm so excited to make more, I have a list already. I think my next venture will be a Nintendo and then a telephone. The trouble is the embroidery and hand sewing takes forever. The cameras took about 3 days and the sewing machine a week. It was pretty funny to tell people I was sewing a sewing machine when they asked what I was doing!!!
