1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: services of craftsitemedic (artmarketing.com) on: July 17, 2005 06:29:06 AM
whops! I messed up the link!! Please take a look at artcraftmarketing.com.

Here is what they offer for their 2 more expensive exposure options. It would take ages to get listed on so many sites (many craft related) and for $200 its likely the best deal around. I can't imagine it being possible or worthwhile to do on your own.

2  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Re: check out our website on: July 17, 2005 06:17:01 AM

As mentioned in my original post, we are not yet selling to the public. Also, I'm not clear what your issue is with sharing your name/ a store locator. As we are distributing, we want people who visit our site and who like our stuff to be able to e-mail us to ask where they can buy our products and we we want a personal touch- so people can know who we are.

3  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / services of craftsitemedic (artmarketing.com) on: July 14, 2005 02:44:51 AM
Have any of you crafters used the services or know others who have used the services of this arts and crafts website promotion service and if so, please share details.

I meant to post this here and not in the other forum!

4  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / check out our website on: July 14, 2005 02:34:00 AM

Please check out our website and share your comments and suggestions. We have not yet decided if we will go retail with it so are not set up with prices and a shopping cart just yet.

5  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / selling to galleries/gift shops- credit references on: May 12, 2005 07:36:02 AM

I want to begin selling to galleries and will be expected on the 2nd purchase to give on credit, net30. How does one go about verifying a shops credit/getting credit references? I see many artists request it but I have no idea how to go about doing it. Advice from the many of you who sell to shops would be most appreciated.

6  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / targeted advertising for animal themed crafts on: May 04, 2005 08:37:35 AM
We make a line of crafts such as animal keychains, magnets and standing or hanging animals. We have all kinds of animals- bugs, birds, fish and  mammals. We are looking for the best places to advertise our work- either on-line or in print. Any suggestions?

7  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / on-line craft fairs/malls on: May 04, 2005 08:32:50 AM

Anyone know of successful/popular online craft malls or fairs where a crafter can either sell their work or get a link to their site. The few I have looked at are not user friendly/not nice looking or have few crafters or I suspect they get minimal traffic.

9  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / packing ideas for soap on: October 06, 2004 04:51:27 AM
I am looking for ideas of a reasonable, attractive, easy packaging for soap. I'd like to be able to smell the soap and that it should protect and retian the scent for a long time.

10  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / wholesale or retail? on: October 03, 2004 01:35:09 AM

Any suggestions for someone getting into crafting? For someone as myself with limited time is it really worthwhile building a website and promoting it, dealing with customers, packing and shipping orders or just to find a number of galleries to carry my work and make less (I figure around 25-30% less) without the hassle? Is there a need to be concerned that they won't pay net30 as requested/promised? Is there a source/way to do a background check on galleries, etc. in order to dcide who to contact?
