This swap is a Mini 13 days of Halloween swap. Instead of opening all your presents at once like in other swaps, we count down the days to Halloween starting with 10/01. You will open day 13 on October the 1st, day 12 on October the 2nd and so on until 10/13.
-You must post in this thread before signing up

Some things to think about:

* I STRONGLY recommend that you have a wist or pinterest for this swap, as it helps out your partner greatly. Please keep this updated and have at least 20 items on it. If you do not have a wist or pinterest, please have another way to show items to your partner that you like (etsy favorites, flickr, etc...)

*If you are sending BAKED GOODS, please only send them if you live in the same country as your partner. We do not need to tempt customs people to keep your package after you have worked so hard on it! Also, if you are sending baked goods you should make this the package that is opened on day 1!

*I highly recommend that you wrap your items in a plastic bag/trash bag/ or some other protective wrapping INSIDE the box you are sending. Things can get wet from rain and/or snow OR things can melt in hot temperatures.

144  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Sew Sweet Altered Spool on: June 09, 2014 10:27:55 AM
I made this altered spool for quaggy in the altered spool swap.  I chose to go with her sewing theme and I knew I was going to make a little shrine for her.  I had quite a few bits and bobs lying around in my stash but no spools!  So I drew out what I wanted to do and ordered a few things.

I wanted a vintage feel and so I didn't paint the shrine just put in some paper for the background.  I used washi tape and bakers twine to make the bunting.  I had the mini spools in my stash and just wrapped them in thread.  I was also able to find that wee needle hiding out in some lace.  Lucky find since it was the perfect size!  I went back and forth with a few ideas on what to do with the spools.  In the end I decided on washi tape.

Here is a picture of the top/sides of the shrine.  It has some vintage measuring tape wrapped around it.

I hope that quaggy was happy with her spool shrine.
145  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Lots of Note Cards on: June 06, 2014 03:45:49 PM
One of my goals this year was to get more familiar with my Silhouette Cameo considering the amount of money I spent on it.  I thought I would be able to plug it on in and just start creating.  Well things of course didn't work out that way... I think that after two years this is one of my more successful projects using it.

I made a variety of different note cards for a few different swaps I have been in recently.

A pretty bird

A peacock

Mama and baby fox

And a whale, some geometric designs, and a leaf
146  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Caffeine Makes Me Normal on: June 06, 2014 03:24:30 PM
I made this hoop for alwaysinmyroom in the Ongoing Wish Swap.  I bought the pattern from ActsofCraftiness' Etsy shop  It started as a cross stitch pattern but I just traced it an embroidered it since I don't cross stitch much.  I tried using the stem stitch on the words but looking at it now I don't like it and will probably go back to using the back stitch for letters and such.

147  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Shy Girl & Boy on: May 28, 2014 09:05:27 AM
sheepBlue and I did a personal swap and she had this pattern pinned so I decided to stitch it up for her.  If you are familiar with the colors used on the color guide you can see I switched them up quite a bit.  This pattern had a ton of teeny lines and details that didn't come through well for me as I was transferring the pattern but I still think they turned out pretty good.

I used four strands of floss and a back stitch  for just about everything.
148  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Beaded Suncatcher on: May 23, 2014 08:36:13 AM
I have had a beaded suncatcher pinned on Pinterest forever!  I decided of course rather than make one for myself that I would make one for my partner in the Random Swap.  I used memory wire and glass beads to put this together.  It takes A LOT of beads. It ended up costing me more money than I anticipated since my local bead store that sells loose glass beads charges by the ounce.  Glass beads are heavier than I thought! alwaysinmyroom made one and used more seed beads in hers.  I hate working with seed beads but it may be a good alternative to use as a filler for next time.  Another tip if you decide to make one for yourself... rather than pushing the beads round and round the wire to the bottom just string a few on then pull on both ends of the wire and they will slide right on down.

Here is my terrible picture of it inside my house...

If you want to see it in action you can check out the picture my partner posted here

149  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Summer Time Shrine on: May 20, 2014 09:52:11 AM
My partner in the Random Swap requested an altered item of some sort.  I had been wanting to play with shrine design for a while so I ordered up a few supplies and two new collage sheets and dug through my stash to come up with this.  I painted the inside bits of the shrine and used scrapbook paper to cover the back and outside of the shrine.  I used Distress Inks on the edges of all the paper and on the tag on the back. I really hope she liked it!
