1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / DIY Glitter Ornaments on: December 04, 2017 07:50:03 AM
Glitter ornaments have been everywhere this year so I decided to give them a go. Im now hooked and have way too many!!
You will need to get some clear plastic ornaments, Super fine glitter,  polycrylic (hardware stores), a cheap measuring cup,  a funnel, and a box with holes cut into it.  Ive seen tutorials using other stuff in place of the polycrylic but I had some so thats what I used! I also have these cute pinch bowls which work great for the glitter but a funnel would work too.

Pull the tops off your ornaments. Pour your polycrylic into the ornament and swirl it around to coat the inside entirely. Pour out the excess then I stick the ornament upside down in the box to drain/dry a bit. I coated 4-6 ornaments before I started glittering them.

Next you add the glitter and either shake or swirl is around to coat the inside of the ornament. Dump out the excess glitter.

Finally I set them aside to finish drying before I put the tops back on

Here are some of the finished ones

I plan on decorating some of the bigger ones and Ill share those when theyre finished!
2  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Vanilla Extract on: November 23, 2017 11:56:02 AM
Thanks to this post from Mistress Jennie last year I decided to make my own vanilla extract to give out this year. Rather than sticking the beans in each bottle I stuck them in two bottles of vodka and let them sit. I started this in February and just stuck the two bottles of vodka I used in the cupboard and forgot about them. I strained out the beans and poured the extract into separate bottle then I made some stick on labels with my Silhouette and now Im ready to give them out! I ended up with 11 bottles to give as gifts and one to keep for myself!

3  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects / So Many Heat Transfer Vinyl Shirts on: November 23, 2017 06:59:05 AM
My Silhouette and heat press have been very busy lately! I was asked to make some shirts and things for two friends and I had a project I wanted to make.

First up were these onsies I made for Abbeeroad and her new arrivals. I tea dyed the cloth to give them more of an aged look.

Then my co-worker asked me to make family Disney shirts for her. I made four of each design

Finally I was asked to make a mommy and me set and a few onsies for a baby shower

4  COOKING / Dessert / Zombie Eyes on: October 29, 2017 12:24:17 PM

I made these for my annual Halloween party. They were a super quick and easy Halloween treat.

You need waffle pretzels, candy melts or Hershey Kisses, sprinkles, and candy eyes or even M&Ms would work.

Place one candy melt or kiss on each pretzel and bake them for 3-4 minutes at 250. Then sprinkle them and push an eye or M&M into the chocolate. Stick them in the fridge to set and you are good to go!
5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Halloween Cross Stitch on: October 28, 2017 03:30:29 PM

I am insanely proud of this project. I have dipped my toes into cross stitching before but always with very small projects. This is the first one I have ever completed on a larger scale. I ended up changing out the colors a bit from the original pattern and I love the way it turned out.

I cant wait to try my new skills on more patterns.
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Crystal Necklace on: October 10, 2017 08:45:55 AM

I made this necklace for sheepBlue in a recent personal swap we did. This was a process! I followed a tutorial for growing crystals with Borax and pipe cleaners. My first attempt grew no crystals.. my second grew a bunch on the pipe cleaners and on the bottom of the jars. I wasnt super impressed with how my pipe cleaner crystals looked but I was able to pop the crystals out of the bottom of one of the jars to play with. The second jar still has crystals on the bottom lol! I broke the large piece into smaller pieces and glued them to this pendant tray. Then I painted them and voila!

8  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Winner Winner Cashew Chicken Dinner on: September 11, 2017 07:25:50 PM

I've been lazy lately when it comes to trying new dinner recipes. Sometimes it's easier to to just use our usual go to recipes but it gets boring. I have about a billion recipes pinned and decided we needed to try one. This one was a winner!

I used a bag of frozen Asian veggies, added some onion, and served it over rice rather than broccoli. I think it's pretty versatile in terms of veggies you can use.

You can find the recipe here http://www.crunchycreamysweet.com/2017/02/24/quick-and-easy-cashew-chicken-recipe/
9  SEWING IN GENERAL / Machine Embroidery: Completed Projects / Headless Horseman Hoop on: September 07, 2017 02:26:59 PM

I stitched this up on the machine for Pottermouth in the Vintage Halloween Swap. She said she would be good with anything in this theme and luckily Urban Threads happened to have this fantastic pattern. I haven't moved beyond making my machine embroidery items into actual things so it went into a hoop!

Please ignore the unfinished edge poking out... I swear I finished it up before I sent it!
10  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Altered Tombstones on: August 23, 2017 07:11:26 AM
I make a set of these Tombstones every year for a swap that is hosted by Retro Cafe Art Gallery. The only rule is you have to use the new set of four Tombstones. I purchased a little set of chipboard monsters and traced them on to watercolor paper to paint. The tombstones themselves are just painted then splattered. My favorite is the black tombstone with the orange monster.

Here is a collage of my past tombstones which I have shared here but am too lazy to dig up links!
