1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Spooky Altered Altoid Tin?? on: September 06, 2018 09:35:13 AM
Would anyone be interested in a Halloween themed Altoid tin swap? Im thinking one tin thats filled with goodies or if your tin is decorated on the inside then goodies on the side! The little extras must fit in the tin though!
2  CRAFTSTER CRAFT CHALLENGES / CHALLENGE 124 ENTRIES / Free Hugs on: August 01, 2018 10:22:21 AM
I just knew when i saw this that i wanted to paint a cactus rock for the challenge! I live in Arizona so it seemed fitting! Of course I needed to add a bit of snark too Cheesy

I had a ton of fun with this and cant wait to hide my rock. My kids painted some with me. Look how awesome my daughters UP rock and sons shark rock are!
3  COOKING / Dessert / Marshmallow Fudge Brownies on: July 30, 2018 07:44:53 AM
So this idea started with one of those cooking videos that are all over Facebook. It showed a brownie layer covered marshmallow and then it had some weird chocolate peanut butter rice crispy treat thing on top. Overall they did not seem appealing but I couldnt get the thought of marshmallow brownies out of my head so I decided to bake a pan of brownies and then wing it. Right when I took the brownies out of the oven I smeared them with Marshmallow fluff. Then I took fudge frosting and microwaved it for about 30 seconds so it was liquidy and poured it over the top. These dont look so pretty, possibly because the brownies were still super hot when I added the topping, but they were rich and delicious.

This was the first time I have ever melted a can of frosting and decided that this is the way to go from now on. I cant wait to try pouring the frosting over a cake or dipping cupcakes
4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Jurassic Swap Gallery on: July 30, 2018 07:08:49 AM

5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Mythical Creatures Portraits on: July 27, 2018 09:24:26 AM

These two are from a digital stamp pack from Le Petite Market on Etsy. The dragon looks so regal and every time i look at the Yeti I think RAWR!!! in my head.

There two more creatures in the pack who may get stitched at some point.

It's that time of year again!  Time to sign up for the MINI 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS SWAP!!!!  It may seem a bit early to some, but I love knowing theres a long crafting time.  Especially since this swap is on the bigger side and the holidays can be hectic so, starting early just makes things easier and stress free.

Details of swap:

The idea of this swap is to craft for your partner 12 items based on their interests, going along with the idea of the 12 Days Of Christmas song. The items that you make DO NOT have to be the items in the 12 days of Christmas song. The items sent/received can be BOTH everyday items and Christmas/Winter themed goodies. You will make 8 small items for days 1-8, for days 8-10 you will make medium items and days 11 & 12 will be large items. So that is 2 large, 2 medium and 8 smalls for a total of 12 days.

So, the break down will be:
DAYS BREAKDOWN:
Days 1-8 small
Days 8-10 medium
days 11-12 large

In the past rounds it was 75% crafted items & 25% store bought.
(extras are optional and are solely up to you.)

Below are Craftster guidelines for size requirements to help everyone. If you are having troubles with a certain size feel free to make an equivalent to the particular size. For instance, instead of a medium, you could look at the guidelines and substitute the 1 medium for perhaps 2 or 3 smalls. Just be sure to look at the guidelines and use your best judgment. Put yourself in your partners shoes and ask yourself if you think you would be happy with the equivalent of the items they choose. And, if in doubt, you can always send a pm to me and get a second opinion, and if youre still in doubt, ask another person in this swap. Here are the guidelines:

By Time
-Large = 3 or more hours
-Medium = 2 or more hours
-Small = 2 or less hours

By Price
-Large = $30 or more
-Medium = $10-$30 dollars
-Small = $10 or less

Note: In the past there has been slight confusion on how to label packages.  So just to make it clear the first package you want your partner to open, you label as #1.  Then for the 2nd package you want them to open youd label #2 the second and so on.  So, #12 package would be the last package opened.  You can also label them by dates, as in put 'DEC 1' on the first gift your partner will open then the last gift would be labeled DEC 12th.  Either way you want to label them is fine.  Just make sure that the small gifts are opened first and the last gifts opened are the large.

The RULES:
1. You must send ALL PM's to lindyv321 & whistley and all PM's must have the subject line: Mini 12 Days of Christmas.

2. You must post in the original thread at least once a week! This starts once partners are assigned. That is only about 10 posts.

3.PM's must be sent to lindyv321& whistley and your partner when you send and receive. If you are sending within the USA or Canada you must get a DC# / tracking #. If you are sending outside of your country, you must keep your receipt as proof of shipping, it will be requested if there are any problems! This is mandatory!

4. When you open each days package, you will then need to post in the gallery. I ask that you post pictures within a reasonable amount of time. I know that the Holiday season can be quite hectic, but please get them posted within 5 days of opening. Posting pictures is a requirement for this swap! If you don't have a digital camera and cannot get access to one, please ask your partner to take pictures before they send.

5. The following items are NOT allowed in swap packages:
- Anything that is illegal in the U.S. or wherever you are sending your package to or from.
- Any items that have a legal age requirement to consume in the U.S. such as tobacco, alcohol, pornography etc.
- Mixed CDs containing copyrighted music or similar, including copied software, CDs, DVDs, etc
If you are uncertain please check Craftsters guidelines as well as your local post office

6. If you are sending BAKED GOODS, please only send them if you and your partner live in the same country. I don't want anyone's package to go MIA with the lovely customs officials. Also, if you are sending baked goods, you may leave them out of your package and send them individually so they arrive in a timely manner and don't spoil or go stale.

7. I highly recommend that you wrap your items in a plastic bag/trash bag/ or some other protective wrapping INSIDE the box you are sending. Because of the time of the year packages can get WET due to the post office/ups/etc. leaving them on the doorstep AND some swappers have suggested that you also do this with anything you might send to a hot climate that might melt on your swap goodies.

8. Also, if you will be shipping to a partner that is in a HOT climate during the swap send outs, please do not include anything that might melt on their swap goodies. Think about wrapping them in a plastic baggie or something similar.

9. Here is some info from the USPS on the Flat Rate Boxes: these can be used for Domestic and International but the rates differ for International shipments. And if you purchase your postage online at usps.com or by paypal, com you get a small discount on the postage price. The Flat Rate boxes themselves are FREE (you still have to pay for postage ) from your local post office and also FREE if you get them online from the website usps.com, they will deliver them to you free of charge too!! Canada has some shipping envelopes that can be used within the country or region and prices will vary, but if you are sending something heavy they are a good choice.

10. I highly recommend that each of you put together a PINTEREST. These are a huge help for your swap partner. They get to look through all the things you have put into it to get a feel for what you like.

Also remember to read the Swap Info Guide to find out how to ship your packages and other details about participating in a swap.

AND AS A REMINDER:
Please remember to keep in the holiday spirit.  Extras are optional-but quality is NOT optional.  I want everyone to receive nice items that were crafted/bought with them in mind.  So, in other words Please read their questionnaire over and over and make sure you are sending them something they will like, and not just random things thrown in a box.  Its never fun to receive a thought-less package, especially when they worked hard to make you crafty wonderful-ness from the heart.
