3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Tissue Paper Roses on: February 09, 2018 06:15:39 AM
I sent a little shrine to my partner in the Mixed Media Valentine Swap and packaged it in this.

Its just a cheap box of chocolates that I glued tissue paper roses on to. The roses are really easy to make but actually took more time than I thought they would!

8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Pile of Presents Stocking on: December 18, 2017 09:10:39 AM
I made this stocking for my partner in the stocking swap. I machine embroidered the design on before I sewed it all up. This almost didnt happen though! The design was giving me so many issues and took four tries. I was about to scrap it but gave it one final try. Luckily it worked!

Im not 100% happy with the placement of the design on the stocking Im happy I got it on there at all!
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Glitter Ornaments part 2 on: December 18, 2017 09:04:20 AM
Remember all the glitter ornaments I made? I promised to show you how I decorated them.

First I decided to try some unicorn ornaments which seem to be all over the place right now. I used polymer clay for the horns, felt for the ears, and vinyl for the eyes

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out vinyl for these

I think the ornaments are beautiful without any additional decorations on them too! You can find my original post and tutorial here if you want to try them yourself

10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / DIY Glitter Ornaments on: December 04, 2017 07:50:03 AM
Glitter ornaments have been everywhere this year so I decided to give them a go. Im now hooked and have way too many!!
You will need to get some clear plastic ornaments, Super fine glitter,  polycrylic (hardware stores), a cheap measuring cup,  a funnel, and a box with holes cut into it.  Ive seen tutorials using other stuff in place of the polycrylic but I had some so thats what I used! I also have these cute pinch bowls which work great for the glitter but a funnel would work too.

Pull the tops off your ornaments. Pour your polycrylic into the ornament and swirl it around to coat the inside entirely. Pour out the excess then I stick the ornament upside down in the box to drain/dry a bit. I coated 4-6 ornaments before I started glittering them.

Next you add the glitter and either shake or swirl is around to coat the inside of the ornament. Dump out the excess glitter.

Finally I set them aside to finish drying before I put the tops back on

Here are some of the finished ones

I plan on decorating some of the bigger ones and Ill share those when theyre finished!
