1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Vest from a jacket?? on: September 20, 2006 07:58:08 AM
Ok so everywhere I go I am seeing these little vests for women to wear (which I love) and I was wondering if there was a way to transform some button up suit jackets into these vests....I'm not a great sewer but do have some jackets that sleeves are a little short now and I would love to try to recreate this look, ideas, suggestions anyone?

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / What to do with my dad's sweatshirt on: January 20, 2006 05:08:01 AM
So I have this pretty cool red sweatshirt with the Bulls on it.  It was my Dad's - but he cut off the sleeves a long long time ago as he only used it to work out it in....now I have this huge sleeveless Chicago Bulls sweater (which I lovE!) but need to fix it up to make it cooler....
I was at a festival a cpl summers ago and remember seeing some tank tops that had been made from sweatshirts - the straps were from the sleeves or bottom I'm guessing and the logos weren't in the middle they were kinda on an angle - not sure if you follow...
I've done very minimal sewing and nothing reconstructed other than a jean skirt......any tutorials/ideas/suggestions are very very appreciated.

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Baby "Bag" on: October 13, 2005 06:33:57 AM
Hi everyone,

I'd like to make something special for a friend expecting - and was thinking of a baby "bag", like a sleeping bag with a zip up the middle or something? Does anyone have a pattern or other suggestions.  I'd like to maybe steer away from the baby blanket.

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Baby Bobbi Bear from Blue Sky Alpacas on: August 29, 2005 09:22:00 AM
I would like to try this sometime - does anyone know what would be a good substitue yarn for what's called for  - something that could be picked up at a Michael's maybe?

There is one place in Canada selling the Blue Sky (according to Blue Sky's site), they are in Toronto - and can't order off of web, and the shipping is too expensive with exchange on the dollar here.....

I basically don't want to end up trying to make a $50.00+ bear.....:-)
