1  Re: Inchie My Theme R2 in The Swap Gallery by Rainbow_Storms on: May 02, 2011 04:16:14 PM
I got my last set of inchies this weekend! They are great, but I'm sad that I don't have any reason to check my mailbox anymore! Well, except for netflix.  Cheesy

Here are my pretties from My_Rubyslipper!

The pictures are a bit drab... I think I've seen the sun once in the last week or so... I'm sorry the colors don't show as vibrantly as they are in person.
First, some forest spirits from Princess Mononoke for my Miyazaki theme, then fantasy creatures, mushrooms, steampunk, and Jane Austen-esque! I love the mix of everything.

The one in the middle is probably my favorite, but they are all so cute!

Thanks for them, My_Rubyslipper!

2  Re: Blythe and Pullip Favorite Color Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Rainbow_Storms on: April 27, 2011 10:04:00 AM
Saffron finally decided that she was ready to show off her lovely package! Unfortunately, it's raining for the.... third day in a row around here, and the lighting is pretty bad.
Saffron's color was yellow/with white polka dots, and also blue. She thought it would be fun to do the grand opening in the only yellow and blue thing she has- it's a vintage Francie dress from my mom's old stuff  Cheesy

The first lovely dress! It's so cute with the polka dots and button embellishments! Also two of the clippies, the left is a star and the right a butterfly!

A fancy dress! Ignore the wrinkles; those are our fault, not imafundork's!

And these are the clips I'm stealing  Grin I love them!

And a kitty hood!! I love it, it looks great on Saffron. After she crammed it on, she refused to take it off, and is still prancing around in it! And Imafundork couldn't have picked prettier fabric, I love it!

Happily surrounded by all the loot.

Thanks so much, imafundork and Hazel! We had a great swap!~

I have received from Kimchery and Interrobam, and love everything! It's been horrid weather around here, so I didn't have great lighting for pictures, but trust me, they are gorgeous!

From Kimchery
She chose my steampunk, gnomes&mushrooms, and fantasy themes. I love the different methods that she used!

A close up of two of the shrinky dink inchies- aren't they lovely?

From Interrobam
I'm in awe of your teeny tiny drawings! They are so soft and delicate, and I love them! Interrobam chose my Jane Austen, Fantasy creatures, gnomes&mushrooms & Miyazaki themes!

The three on the bottom are probably my favorites- a tiny triptych Jane Austen/fantasy creature mash up! I wish I could get this to show up better! It's so pretty!

Thanks to both of you for the gorgeous inchies!

I am loving all these gorgeous inchies! I wish I could wallpaper my whole craft room in inchies!  Cheesy

Here are the lovelies I received from Kimmylynne82 and AmandaBL!

From KimmyLynne
She chose my fantasy creatures, steampunk and mushrooms/gnomes themes! Aren't they great? Drawing this tiny is so hard for me, but she did a great job! And I love all the gears and bits on the steampunk ones, too  Smiley

From AmandaBL
From my mushrooms and gnomes theme! I love all of these, but that bottom right gnome just sends me into fits of giggles.

She also sent some fab blank inchies to use later... I just love them!

Thanks so much! I'm on my way to the post office now to send out to my group, and I can't wait for the rest of mine!  Grin

5  Decoupage Bangles in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Rainbow_Storms on: March 25, 2011 10:20:38 AM
I've been wanting to make some decoupaged bangles for awhile, and finally I found some old wooden ones to re-purpose. I don't know if I can decide which one is my favorite. First up is my vintage comic book one...

This is my favorite part of it,  Cheesy Gotta love Wolverine.

This is made from some random loose pages I have in my stash.. I think it's from when I tried to make Little Dorrit into one of those book safe things (that didn't go so well).

I'm so glad it's about warm enough to start baring my arms and showing off these babies!

6  Jellyfish and rainbow button canvasses in Completed Projects by Rainbow_Storms on: March 25, 2011 10:09:40 AM
I wasn't quite sure where to put these.... they're on canvasses, but I didn't do any painting, so I didn't think they quite fit the "art" category.

The buttons on the jellyfish's "body" are all sewn onto both the felt and canvas, but the blue buttons are just attached with super glue. I started to sew them on also, but it just didn't suit them.

The weather's been a bit gloomy lately, so the photos make this look a little duller than it really is. The colors are the same, but it pops more in person.

And this is my rainbow canvas. I love the colors.  Smiley I glued down several magazine pages first, which made it much more difficult to sew through. I don't know if I would do something like that again, knowing what my fingers would have to go through!

Thanks for looking, comments and such are appreciated!

7  Happy Monster Ipad Case in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Rainbow_Storms on: March 25, 2011 09:29:12 AM
I needed a case for my ipad, but was too cheap to go out and buy one... thankfully I had this monster fabric in my stash. I bought it just because I thought it was too cute to pass up, and it's been shoved in my fabric bag for probably over 6 months. I dug it out, got some orange fleece, and went to town. I love how it turned out. It's nothing fancy, but it's just what I wanted, and I love getting to show it off!  Cheesy

8  Hats for my Blythe (slightly pic chubby) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Rainbow_Storms on: November 23, 2010 08:30:52 PM
So I have recently discovered and fallen in love with Blythe dolls. I knew I had to have one as soon as I saw them, and ended up with Saffron, my Bohemian Peace girlie.
I raided my childhood Barbie stash for clothes and accessories, but was disappointed with what I found, so I've (slowly) started getting into making things myself for her. Right now it's mostly polyclay miniatures, but I saw other people's lovely felt hats and had to try it for myself.
Here are her Christmas elf and Dr. Seuss hats. Please let me know what you think!

9  upcycled crayons in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Rainbow_Storms on: October 28, 2009 10:27:14 AM
Yesterday I finally sat down and did something I've been wanting to try for awhile- recycling crayons. I managed to scrounge a decent haul of broken bits from the boys I babysit, and their mom donated a junked out muffin tin. DH has been sick with a sinus/ear infection for the past two days (I know none of you have to baby your men when they get sick  Cheesy) so I've had a fair bit of free time, what with him napping all the time.
I followed the directions from a fellow craftster's previous post (don't know where the link was, but it was so helpful), and put the muffin tin (regular sized) in the oven at 170 F (they had said 150, but my oven wouldn't go any lower) for 20 minutes. I ended up cranking it up to 225F and waiting another 5-7 minutes after that. I think 200 F for 25 minutes would have been perfect. (For me, anyway) They turned out really nicely, though, so I don't think it made much of a difference. I'm going to take these over to the kids this afternoon, and if they're a hit, probably make a couple more batches. Let me know what you think, or any suggestions!
