1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Re: Jelly Bean Charms on: July 21, 2008 03:31:50 AM
Question: I am not a resin-er, so I haven't got any...would just slapping some Mod Podge on there do the trick, or would I actually need to invest in some resin (I do plan on making that investment at some point)?

Wow, I am in love with all of these pieces. I have most definitely tried and failed to achieve similar results.

This is absolutely amazing! The magnetic paint is sheer brilliance. I want to be you when I grow up.

However, you spelled "pursuits" correctly the first time, with a U. (:

Ahhhhh!!!! *want want want*

When giving directions to my apartment, I end with "it's the one with the four-foot Ron Paul sign in the window. You can't miss it."

...and nobody ever does miss it.

Holy freaking moley this is my new favorite thing ever.

rosetyler, they play 'em on the Sci Fi channel on Fridays. Silence in the Library was last night...I really want to know how it ends! I have to either find it online or wait a week...

Selnith, I've never even HEARD of that before...but it sounds awesome! That's such an easy recipe!
9  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: 6 yards of strechy fabric....what is it good for? on: April 15, 2008 12:22:27 PM
If you search for the Infinity Dress, you'll get some great results. It's very easy, only one seam, so a beginning seamstress should not have too much trouble. It uses 2-way stretch fabric, so yours sounds like it might be a good fit.

Cute fabric choice, too!
10  COOKING / Dessert / Fondant questions on: April 15, 2008 12:14:22 PM
Hello! I am not a very accomplished cake decorator, and I have most certainly never tried fondant (the closest to fondant I've ever come is the Food Network's Ace of Cakes...).

However, I'm interested in making a cake for a friend, and my idea involves a rectangular cake with white fondant on it - easy, right? I was planning, if it matters, on using the easy marshmallow fondant.

But then there's some writing involved. Not like huge, swirly, "Happy Birthday" writing...I mean a little more intricate. I want several words, and the size I'm aiming for would be about...maybe like 70-point font, if that makes sense. My writing does not have to be perfect - in fact, it's supposed to look like handwriting, so imperfections might even make it cuter.

My question is this: can I roll little "ropes" of fondant, the way I used to make snakes out of play-doh when I was a kid only tinier, and shape them into letters and words? Or is the fondant too breakable/sticky/insert your own adjective here?
