11  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Freeform clutch (several pics) on: April 02, 2008 07:54:10 PM
This is my first project posting on craftster... My mom gave me an annie's attic How to Free-form Crochet book for Christmas, and in it they had lots of motifs and a purse, which I rather liked... this is my modified version of it.  I'm not really big on freeform or crocheting bags, but I think it came out well.  A friend suggested I make it shorter than I had it at first and more of a clutch shape because she thought it would look nicer. I've done than and placed the button fastener lower.  Now I'm thinking about maybe putting a second button up higher so I can have a smaller clutch if I want or a larger bag if I need more space, but I haven't decided.  Sorry about the poor image quality (lame camera phone + shaky hands).

You would probably make it somewhere in between.  Yarnstandards.com has a section with info on standard sizing that would suggest between 16 in and maybe 18 (what is a toddler versus a child age-wise?):
