1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Corset-back tee? on: September 25, 2010 12:59:09 AM
Hey, sorry if this is in the wrong place!
I'm wondering if it's possible to recon a t shirt and make the back be laced up/corset style? That's really unclear sorry, have a crummy doodle to confuse you some more!

If anybody gets what I'm saying, could someone tell me how to go about this?

Thanks so much!
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / The sneakiest craft fail in all the land. on: July 24, 2010 10:13:50 PM
-I didn't put this in stitch and botch because I plan on wearing the skirt in all it's fail-ey goodness-
So today, I set out to make a t-skirt. With a needle, thread and pair of crayola scissors in hand, I hand sewed myself a fancy tube of messy fail.
Then I put it on.
Wait, since when am I curvy, and since WHEN is my body not one straight line?

Not knowing how to do a waistband, I reached for my school headband, made from elastic. And Voila! Secret failiure!

Pictures: (be kind, this was my first time sewing)

Back: (Charlie Chaplin butt. Tee hee! Oh, and note the fail of fabric lengths)

Sneaky headband waistband!:

Wink It's our little secret, right?

3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Why must my DB be so ridiculously hard to craft for? on: July 22, 2010 04:37:14 AM
My boyfriend and I are polar opposites. He's from a farm and loves the outdoors, dosen't listen to music and barely goes on the internet. I've lived in the city for my entire life, I prefer to stay inside, music is my life and I live on my computer.

He's from a dairy farming family, so I wanted to do something cute about farming and city life coming together, and all I've got is putting these two characters together from tokidoki:  http://www.thegiantpeach.com/productimages/main/detailed/brands/snoozecitydesigns/102609/latte-500.jpg
, designing the girl to look like me, and the boy to look like him. But where do I go from there? I can barely knit, I'm a novice sewer and I paint. What could I do?

4  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Gaming cave? on: July 16, 2010 10:15:04 PM
Hello there, I have a major melon scratcher for you all:

I'm about to move into my new house, which has a basement. I particularly ADORE basements, because I love the dark and someplace of my own to chill out, watch tv and play videogames, and my parents have given me the ok to decorate it as I please, as long as there's no paint involved. So far, I've just got a whole bunch of star wars posters, and I want to decorate it with things I love. Can you guys help me by posting some ideas?

Here's a little bit about me if that helps:
  • 13 Years Old
  • Girl
  • Gamer (Xbox, Nintendo)
  • Sci Fi buff (Red dwarf, Star Wars, Star Trek, War of the worlds)
  • Absolutely in love with David Bowie and The Cure

If anyone has any suggestions, please help me!

5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Bletchu McSnicklepop, the amazing faux Muppet! on: July 02, 2010 05:25:50 PM
I have recently become incredibly fascinated by the world of puppetry (Inspired by Jim Henson, of course), and decided to try my hand at making my very own puppet! I followed this super simple, amazingly helpful tutorial on Puppet Kaos: http://www.puppetkaos.com/2007/08/how-to-make-a-moving-mouth-puppet-with-arm-rods-mac-and-cheese/

Without further ado, I proudly introduce my very Grover like puppet, Bletchu McSnicklepop!

Of course, C&C wanted and welcome!
6  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / Replicating this amazingly awesome neckline? on: June 05, 2010 08:46:47 PM

This shirt is my absolute favourite shirt in the world. The fabric is perfect for where I live (Sunny Queensland!) the colour is just fantastic, its so well made, its the most perfectly fitting size Large (aren't they always too small or too huge?) and the neckline is so feminine and awesome. I pose this question to you, crafty ladies, and sorry if this sounds n00bish, but how can I make that neckline on other shirts?
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Ferret-Tail Jeans? on: March 01, 2009 02:34:22 AM
I have a new crafty project in mind- Jeans with a ferret tail coming out the back, like Nao from alice nine has.
If you have no idea what i'm on about, heres a picture to kinda explain it:

like that, but i want to add the tail to a pre-exsisting pair of jeans.

how would I go about this project/washing the jeans?

would the tail have to be detactchable? how would i do that?

thanks in advance,
