1  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Yo Yo quilt on: October 24, 2009 02:13:26 PM
That is amazing.  I have a yo-yo obsession, so this is right up my alley.  I have never seem one where the yo-yos are sewn together so securely like that.  Beautiful, and in such great shape, not even yellow.  Lucky duck!

3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: thank you Tiny Happy! on: May 24, 2009 05:16:47 PM
I've used this tute 3 or 4 times.  One I enlarged & I love it.  My favorite is the one I lined with quilted fabric.  It holds it's shape great.  You are doing great for a new sewer.  Congratulations!

New Look 6613 is my go to pattern for my 5 year old.  I have made her a ton of them. It is such an easy pattern & turns out so cute!  Love yours, great job!
5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Matching Easter Outfits for My Girls on: April 19, 2009 03:47:05 PM
I always make my girls matching Easter dresses.  My older daughter is now 11.  I figured she is probably tired of matching her 5 yr old sister.  This year I used the same fabric, but made them different outfits.  I used fabric that I already had on hand.  It is blue quilting cotton I bought 2 years ago, & never used.  Maddie's pinafore is made with McCall's 4648.  I don't think you can see it in the photo, but there are pintucks down the front of the bodice.  It is very sweet.  I let her  look through my patterns & this is what she picked.  Sarah's skirt is Butterick 4722.  I always stock up on patterns when Hancock's runs them for 0.99.  I've had both patterns probably 3 years.  It's the first time I've used the skirt pattern & I love it.  I will be making her more like this.  I didn't have time to make their shirts.  There was a women's store going out of business.  I got two petite tuxedo blouses for $1 each.  I took Sarah's up a little, & made Maddie's short-sleeved.  It worked out great.  Thanks for looking!

I just took a better look at my photos.  The color is actually more blue than it appears.  It is a sweet baby blue/white flower print.
6  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: The Pink Fabric Yo-Yo Dress of Doom on: April 10, 2009 08:48:19 AM
LOVE this dress!!!! i have been making yo-yos for over a year now.  Now I know what to do with them!  I have been adding them to purses, table runners, anything I could think of.  I have embellished dressses & shirts with them, but never thought of this.  This is so cute!!
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: My New Twirly Skirt... is too big :'( on: August 27, 2008 10:43:04 AM
Is the elastic in a casing?  If so just rip about about a two inch opening, cut the elastic & replace with the correct size.  Then stitch the opening back up.  I've done this to DDs skirts.  Maybe yours is made differently though.  Good luck.  It is gorgeous, & congrats on the job!
8  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Re: another question regarding NL 6613... on: July 20, 2008 11:49:09 AM
I've made several of this pattern, I have never used the ribbon yet.  I have used piping aroundthe edges of the bodice, but I've made it plain also.  I think it is still cute as can be.  Just whatever suits your taste.
9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / July 4th Outfits on: July 16, 2008 09:35:46 PM
These is my belated post of my daughters 4th of July outfits.  They are coordinating fabrics I got at Walmart for $1-2/yd.  My 5 yo' s dress is New Look 6613 (my favorite pattern).  My older daughters pantaloons are nopattern/wing it & her peasant top is based off vegbee's tutorial.  I had to add a contrast band at the bottom because she is getting so tall, & it wasn't long enough.  I appliqued a contrasting star onto each & used a decorative stitch onthe white band on her shirt.  They were a hit at our cookout.  These were taken the next day after they were all wrinkled.  Thanks for looking!

I apologize for the strange pictures.  I had to resize them to get them to upload, & I must not have done something right.  I'll try to get them fixed.

New Look 6613.  There is also red piping on the halter, but it doesn't show up in the pictures.

I don't know about the original poster, but I got mine on clearance at Walmart.
