11  UNITED STATES / Iowa / LYS in or near Dubuque? on: October 31, 2005 08:27:35 AM
I actually live in Wisconsin, Dubuque is only 15 minutes away, and I'm fairly new to this area.  So far, the only places I have found to buy yarn are Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Jo Anns, and Wal-Mart.  Are there any LYS's in this area?  I do know Hertha in Manchester, but she is 75 miles away.
12  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Scooby-Dooby-Doo, Where are you on: October 28, 2005 04:47:38 PM
He's all over the sweater I made for my DGD, Chissy (pronounced Kissy)

No, one sleeve is not longer then the other,  she just had one pulled down.  The yarn is Tamm Trenzi,  the sweater is from Uniquely Yours, Classic Cardigans,  the Scooby graft is here http://users.adelphia.net/~oldman57/new_page_2.htm
13  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / I'm Broken Hearted on: October 27, 2005 01:25:27 PM

It looks like I'm going to making a lot of knots.
14  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Flag Pole help on: October 19, 2005 11:10:59 AM
The rope on my flag pole broke.  I don't think the pole is sturdy enough to lean a ladder against, and to hire a guy with a cherry picker would be too expensive.  Any idea how to restring my flagpole?
15  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions / Ladybug, Ladybug, Fly away home. Please!! on: October 14, 2005 01:16:37 PM
The annual invasion has started.  We had a light freeze a few days ago, now it has warmed back up.  The freeze killed off the ladybugs usual food, so now they are swarming, looking for food, and winter shelter.  They are crawling all over my windows, walls and ceiling.  My vacuum cleaner and I are going to be very busy, until cold weather is here to stay.   And, Oh Yeah,  They BITE.

16  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / That all-important hat on: October 10, 2005 02:28:31 PM
We had a cold snap, and the DGD wanted a new hat.  Here she is, modeling it, and making a face, so I can't see her missing two front teeth.

I made it with Bernat LuLu yarn, aka, the yarn from he__!

17  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Have an Idea, Need Inspiration on: October 07, 2005 07:07:09 AM
I want to make a duvet cover for my down comforter.  My idea is to make a 9-patch for the top, and machine embroider hummingbirds in the center of the plain patches.  I haven't decided wheather or not I want to frame each square.  Will some of you post a picture of you completed 9-patch, please?
18  CRAFTSTER CRAFT CHALLENGES / Craftster Craft Challenge Theme Ideas, Etc. / Dollar Store; Round 2 on: October 02, 2005 06:35:27 AM
What do you think?  I had a great time browsing the Dollar Tree.  First time around, I bought some nice bamboo placemats and a great bamboo tray that I was going to decorate.  But I ended up useing them as is.
19  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / I thought they were lost on: October 01, 2005 11:30:14 AM
We moved 2 1/2 years ago.  I thought all of my knitting things were in 2 boxes, clearly marked knitting/yarn.  But 2 books went missing, my Beehive family headwear & scarves, and Bucilla gloves and mittens.  A little while ago, I was digging through a basket of scrapes, looking for something else, and there were my books, at the bottom of the basket.  I'm so happy, now I can make my granddaughter another kitty cap, actually it's a balaclava.

I love butterflies.  I was inspired to post these by Carmenita's flowers and grass photos.
