1  Eco Tote finished in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by theatregirl25 on: May 01, 2009 07:26:47 AM
I finished the pre-printed Eco-tote last night. I love how it turned out. So bright and colorful. It has been a while since I made something for myself, and this one is for me. I used all 6 strands of floss, I used split stitch, back Stitch, Stem Stitch, Chain Stitich (this was the first time I successfuly executed this stitch), Statin Stitch, and  French knots. Oh, and here eye and freckles are 3 strands of floss, but the outside of her eye is 6 strands.

I am currently working on mine. I have been using all 6 threads of embroidery thread, some of the blue is still showing a bit, but I think the lines are supposed fade eventually with washing of the bag.

I have been using lots of bright colors for the flowers. I love it. Here is my progress so far. I am almost done.

My mom is feeding the cardinals in our backyard. They were having lunch on Saturday, so I took a few pictures. The orchid is a birthday present from my aunt to my mom.

8  Re: No Knead Bread in Recipes and Cooking Tips by theatregirl25 on: March 03, 2008 01:26:34 PM
Cook's Illustrated has podcast, which I subscribe to. (It's free, if anyone is interested.) Anywho -- they were reviewing this recipe and they basically said that, while it is good, it could be improved. You can find their improvments here. I am planning to try their version. I recommend checking out the podcast, if you have ITunes, because it explains why they made the changes that they did make. (Their version DOES have to be kneaded, but only about 12 quick kneads.) It's supposedly much more flavorful though.

This is the recipe that I have made my last 3 loaves with. It is fantastic. It has a quarter cup of beer added to the mix which does pump up the yeasty-ness of the taste. I took pictures of the last loaf I made, I will have to put them up.

here is a picture of my last loaf of bread

9  Re: Shakespeare swap-Sign ups 2/11/08 to 2/23/08 Send outs 3/31/08 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by theatregirl25 on: February 23, 2008 07:47:05 AM
In high school, I wrote a script for Hamlet called "Hamlet in ten minutes or less." It was hilarious, especially since we had like four people performing all the parts..

at the Bristol Renaissance faire we have a Master Shakespeare, and he does a condensed version of both Hamlet and the "Scottish Play" It is so funny. He is cute too.

10  Gepetto and Pinocchio in Needlework: Completed Projects by theatregirl25 on: February 06, 2008 07:23:58 PM
I embroidered the program art for the Children's show I was in Pinocchio. We(the cast) gave it to the stage manager as a cast gift. She cried when we gave it to her.
