12  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Halloween tin, Wicked sign, Etc.. on: October 27, 2009 07:54:10 PM
This is an altoid tin I altered for my partner in the halloween altoid tin swap round 2. It was my first altered altoid tin so I'm kinda proud. Plus my partner craftypuppymom really liked it.

First I drilled a hole in the side of the tin so I could put a brad in there for decoration/opening.Then I put like 3 different ribbons on the side of the tin top and bottom to hide the silver of the tin. Black lacey ribbon on top and a wide black ribbon on bottom with a black spider web ribbon on top of it. Then cut out my black glittery paper to fit on the top and bottom of the tin. For the top I glued an orange ribbon with witches in the middle and 2 lacey black ribbons on each side of it. Glued that down on the top and the bottom down plain. Orange glitter glue to finish off the edges of the top and bottom. Now to the inside.. cut out the paper to fit, glued it down. Cut the star ribbon to fit, glued it in, which covered the back of the brad. I also put the black lacey ribbon on the side with the witchy spider but then the tin wouldn't close so I had to take it out lol! Learning experience. The witch hat and little star was in the scrapbooking section. Finish off with glitter glue in the seams and it's all done!   On to the pictures..

Opening the tin..

Here's everything I sent.. Tin, Spooky tree of life necklace (which you can see here https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=323671.msg3735525#msg3735525), Boo magnet and pumpkin magnet, Stitch markers, Painted wicked sign, Little pumpkin pouch to put everything in.

And a close up of everything in the tin and my extra..

This was a really fun swap.. I might be addicted to altoid tin swaps now!  Grin

14  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / 1st painting on canvas. gun/heart, inspired by mcr. on: March 30, 2006 10:59:25 AM
Hi. This is my first time posting in this section! I did this painting last night. I was inspired by my chemical romance and was listening to them while painting. The background of the painting is actually a light pink. I'm not entirely sure it's finished, it might need something else. Maybe lyrics?

I'm thinking of putting "So long and goodnight." on there.

What this painting is about to me is someone rejecting you or dumping you and how it makes you feel. The heart and "bones" is like the vulnerability you feel after and how hurt you are. The gun is them doing it to you and giving you pain.

15  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Old School Nickelodeon Swap? on: February 07, 2006 06:38:36 PM
Hey, I have a really great idea for a swap. An old school Nickelodeon swap! Pete and Pete, Salute Your Shorts, Clarissa Explains It All, Ahhh Real Monsters, Ren & Stimpy,  David the Gnome, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Rocko's Modern Life.... ETC! I wouldn't be able to organize so anyone that wants to, that would be awesome. Anyone into this as much as me?
16  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Skull Bracelet on: December 19, 2005 08:40:13 AM
This is the first piece of "jewelery" I've ever made. It's a bracelet I made a while ago with safety pins, beads, and stretchy cord. I made up the pattern of the skull. One of my friends told me the skull reminds them of Nintendo!  Cheesy

Thanks for looking! I'd love any comments..  Grin
17  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 6 ENTRIES / Dr. Morbid's 3D Haunted House on: October 07, 2005 07:13:10 AM
Dr. Morbid's Haunted House.

This is my contribution to craft challenge #6.
My inspiration was Halloween.. which is just around the corner. Cheesy I cut my "canvas", 1'x1', out of an empty cereal box and painted my background. The moon is from a flyer I got in the mail from kmart, it's the print on a blanket/sheet set that I cut out. Dr. Morbid's Haunted House sign and the haunted house is from a tourist halloween flyer for a haunted house. The 3d "trees" are twigs I found outside. The spider webs on the trees are that fake spiderweb decoration stuff that I found outside. In the left corner above the fence there is a tombstone I cut out of a Hershey's candy wrapper. Mr. Pumpkin Head was cut out of a box that a scary halloween candle came in which you can see the candle in the first picture. Cheesy  The fence is made out of the same cereal box and cut into that shape. The fence is also 3d, I made little boxes out of the cereal box and glued them on the back of the fence and onto the "canvas".

Here's a close-up of the house and Mr. Pumpkin Head on the fence.

Here is a close-up of the spider webs and trees.

18  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / Clay Rose and Rose Tealight Candle Holder. on: September 27, 2005 07:04:03 AM
I made this rose and rose tealight holder out of clay that I made from flour/salt/and water. I baked them and then painted them with acrylics. It's the first thing I've ever made out of "clay".  Grin

19  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Orange Plaid Pillow from BF's Button-up Shirt. on: September 27, 2005 06:41:33 AM
This is a pillow I made from one of my boyfriend's old button-up shirts. All I did was cut a rectangle out in the middle of the shirt along the plaid lines while the shirt was buttoned up, sewed up all the sides on my sewing machine wrong sides facing each other. (going along the lines of the plaid as a guide. oh how easy it is to sew plaid fabric Wink), unbuttoned the buttons and turned it right side out through that space, stuffed it and buttoned it back up! Right now it's just filled with cut up pieces of old shirts and sweatshirts but I just got some stuffing so soon it will be a lot more  cushion-y. So easy.  Cheesy
