i am soo glad this turned out semi-decent.  the outer fabric is from a tablecloth my mom was throwing out and the rings are from another bag that i haven't used in forever.  and i put in a zipper!  this is my first in a tote so i was happy with it Smiley

12  vinylaholic. new wristlit! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by beehart on: May 19, 2008 11:29:59 AM
i'm having too much fun with my new vinyl finds.  i made this wristlet after i stitched all the fun stripes on the vinyl.  i love how it turned out...i used a lime green napkin as the lining after fusing it.  i think it's fun.  what do you think?

13  red vinyl flower goodness in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by beehart on: May 16, 2008 11:49:22 AM
so i had this bright red vinyl and had been thinking about making little pouches with stitching on the front so i tried it out.  it's lined with a light yellow calico.  what do you think?

14  cushioned reusable grocery bag... in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by beehart on: May 08, 2008 12:59:27 PM
i just wanted to share with you my latest grocery bag.  i've added felt between the layers to provide a bit of cushioning (i tend to buy a lot of stuff in jars that i'm always worried about breaking when they're in the car).  let me know what you think!!!

15  new clutch! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by beehart on: April 23, 2008 06:05:31 PM
so i just finished this clutch and i HAD to share it.  i really love it.  mainly because i heart the corduroy i used to make it.  and i've had this trim for years ago when i went to an nyc trim mill on a school trip.  let me know what you think!

16  bears, bibs, and towels...oh my! in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by beehart on: April 14, 2008 02:38:21 PM
so my family knows a lot of people that have been popping out kids lately.  my mom, the queen of gift giving for every occasion, has me make a bib and hooded towel for each baby we know.  let me know what you think.

17  sparkle bag! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by beehart on: April 04, 2008 08:52:35 PM
ok, so i know i posted a bag in these fabrics last night, but now i am addicted to them.  i need suggestions for a closure though, so please feel free to comment.

i love the gold loops i have the straps connected to:

i feel like the closure needs to jazz up the front since it's pretty boring...

I figured out a closure!  let me know what you think:

18  i like big bags...a lot in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by beehart on: April 03, 2008 06:31:21 PM
so i've had these two fabrics for years and i LOVE them together but i never wanted to cut into them in case i might find that one perfect use for them later on.  i don't know why i was so worried, i have 10+ yards of each...anywhoo.

i like big bags so i figured i'd try and make one.  i made up the pattern and i think it worked pretty well.  it's lined in the denim but i forgot to take a picture of that and the camera battery just died...

close up of the pocket in between the straps:

comments?  suggestions?  i know sewing straight is a good suggestion..i just noticed how wonky the binding is!

19  my attempt at a side table in CHALLENGE 26 ENTRIES by beehart on: April 01, 2008 05:22:21 PM
this is my first entry so please be kind in your comments!
i started out with:
pizza pan, two glasses, tissue paper, two clipboards (which i didn't use), some rings i found in the wedding section, and lots and lots of super glue:

i glued the two glasses together (after using a ton of super glue to fix the glass that busted while i was making too quick of a right hand turn *sigh*) and covered them in the tissue paper.  i covered the pizza pan in tissue paper and the rings then glued them to the glasses.  voila!  my attempt at a side table...
