1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Prince from Katamari Damacy on: April 01, 2010 01:13:38 PM
I got this pattern from the sprite stitch forum board (forget exactly who made it, but it rocks!), and I had a blast making it. I looove doing simple fun colours, plus this is pretty much my favourite video game that I don't own, lol.

Here's a close up of the stitches

And to suit the crazy happiness of the game, I did a quick modification of a cheapo Value Village frame...

Can't wait to hang this up somewhere! Cheesy
2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Raccoon Mario on: March 21, 2010 02:40:04 PM
A friend of a friend asked me to make him a raccoon mario cross-stitch, and I always like a challenge/excuse to craft, so I did it!

I just took a sprite from The Shyguy Kingdom, and made a pattern of it. :3 I'm not sure if I really like the program's choice of cherry red for skin shading, but I'm not that familiar with the ways of gaming sprites/shading techniques for them, so I went with it anyways. Other than that, I really like how it turned out. Heck, if he forgets or doesn't like it, I'll just frame it and put it up on the wall Cheesy

Also does anybody know a good way to iron out wrinkles from aida fabric? I never know what setting to use and I'm afraid that I'll end up burning it. @__@
3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: In honor of Spunky Old Broad Month! (possibly offensive?) on: February 04, 2010 07:32:16 PM
Bwahah, amazing! The flowery frame really is great with it.  Grin

Thanks everybody!

@mafiosagrrl: Indeed! I was planning on a Bubbles portrait soon too Cheesy I'd love to see yours when you're done!
5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / It's survival of the fitness boys. on: February 02, 2010 08:12:39 PM
I'm a huge fan of Trailer Park Boys (Canadian mockumentary about trailer park life which involves a butt-ton of swearing, liquor, dope, and gun fights...that somehow makes it funny? bwaha), so I decided to embroider something about it! Plus this past month or so has been my huge embrodiery kick, haha.

So it's the famous features of the three main dudes - Ricky, Bubbles, and Julian - with a quote from Ricky, who often fails at popular sayings/pronounciating things.  Wink

I'm not too thrilled about how the lettering turned out, but I do really like it overall! Yay, not to find a frame and put it somewhere. Cheesy
Thanks for looking!
6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Devendra Banhart XStitch <3 on: July 23, 2009 06:02:28 PM
I looove his music Cheesy So when I found a website to make free cross-stitch patterns out of uploaded photos, this was my first pick!

Took me about 4-5 days off and on, and sooo much fun to make!

Thanks for looking Cheesy
7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / True Love Pugs on: July 05, 2009 09:19:45 PM
So I saw this loldog (http://ihasahotdog.com/2009/06/26/cute-puppy-pictures-true-love/) that was super-cute so I made it to hang it up in the house somewhere. My boyfriend and I love pugs but can't afford a pet right now so embroidered cuteness will have to do for a while, haha. I might add a few more stitches, but it's pretty well finished Cheesy Yay!

The front!

And closer up Smiley
Thanks for looking!

9  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Fireworks embroidery on: June 26, 2009 01:10:53 PM
Agreed! Beautiful work, the black canvas totally makes it pop! The back is amazing, and I think you should be very pleased with your work, french knots are perfect!

Thank you for sharing this!

Edit: it's dark blue denim fabric and not black fabric, right? It looked black on my computer. Either way, it's still fantabulous!
Yeah, it's actually a navy heavy fabric (pretty much denim quality, but I'm not sure. It was gifted to me ages ago, haha). :3
Thank you!
10  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Fireworks embroidery on: June 24, 2009 08:01:43 PM
Hey there!
I decided to try out how to do french knots because I realized... that I've never actually tried them before in my stitching! :O So I used them for this. I feel like I have much to learn, haha.
Anyways, these are supposed to be fireworks! I'm getting all excited for Canada Day because all I've ever had for memories of that holidays is good times, even though I have yet to make plans for this year. Fireworks always cap off  the awesome day of free food and parades!

On the wall :B

And the back stitching XD
