Okay, guys. You are about to see the most amazing package...pretty much ever. Averia gave me exactly what I wanted, and she did such a great job!

Here's the shot of everything...

And details!

First up is this ridiculous embroidery of Smaug with his treasure. I love how he looks like really is surrounded and maybe even sinking in a bit. All of the french knots and beads! And the painted fabric! I can't even handle it, guys. Not even a little bit.

When I pulled this one out, I'm pretty sure I looked ridiculous with the huge grin that spread across my face. My Little Gandalf! <3 <3 <3 <3 He's THE CUTEST. And I love felt applique.

The last thing I pulled out was this beautiful circle scarf! It's huge and gorgeous and in two of my favorite colors...ever.

Averia, you are my favorite person. Thank you SO SO SO much. <3 <3 <3 <3

I received my package from Oath Keeper (seriously so soon!) and she did a really great job on everything!

Here's a shot of everything that I got.

She made me a plush Drippy from Ni No Kuni, as well as a clay version which broke during shipment. (I did come home from work today to find that my boyfriend had fixed it, so yay!). I also got a hair clip, a needle felted moogle, and some really cute extras.

Here's Drippy all fixed. Pretty cute, eh Ollie boy?

Here's the plush version of his cursed version, which she almost didn't send!

A felted moogle, which I LOVE. Holy moley, so cute. He looks nice with my videogame toy collection!

This clay hair clip has some pokemon, animal crossing, Ni No Kuni, and Zelda tributes.

Thank you SO SO SO much! I love everything and can't wait to finish your package. <3 <3

3  My Little Pony - Big McIntosh Felt Applique Hoop in Needlework: Completed Projects by Rae-mazing on: May 31, 2014 10:49:47 AM

Oh, Big McIntosh. You are my absolute favorite and I have a not so little crush on you. (That's not creepy, right?)

This cutie was made with felt, thread, and a thrifted hoop (so cheap). I found a large image online and traced him, paying attention to keeping each part distinguishable (his hair, body, yoke, etc). I cut out each piece and just pieced him together! I was lucky in that I already had all the colors I needed from a previous project. I finished off the back with some yellow felt and some apple fabric. This was my first time finishing the back of a hoop, so I do need quite a bit of practice there.

Enjoy! Do you have a favorite pony from the 'new' series?

4  My Little Yoshi in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Rae-mazing on: January 13, 2014 05:01:38 PM

I have a very special place in my heart for My Little Pony. I also have an equally special place for pop culture, geekery, and all around weirdness. I've seem amazing custom My Little Pony toys around the internet for a while and always was amazed at how freaking incredible they were! (Have you SEEN Mari Kasurinen's work?) So when I picked up a handful of G3 ponies at a thrift store the other day, I knew that I was going to have to try some out. This little guy was originally a G3 Breezy.

Yoshi seemed like a good first option. No rehairing (I tried once on a Barbie and the thread broke halfway through the project. Broke my heart.) and the painting would be simple enough. So I blocked out a Saturday and made this little guy! I have a couple progress pictures on my instagram http://instagram.com/unicornwhiskers, so check that out if you're interested.

I used super cheap Acrylic paints and some sculptey clay. And love! Lots of love. <3

I received from my most WONDERFUL partner. Everything that she made me, I absolutely adore. Prepare to be jealous!

The loot, minus some tasty chocolates that I totally devoured.

The first thing I opened! A sweet mobile with little paper stars and soot creatures! I can't wait to hang it above my sewing desk. It's too cute!

Turnip Head embroidery! She really captured his personality, I can't help but smile when I look at it!

Calcifer plush! The cuteness overwhelms...

A Totoro pencil case with a little felt Totoro sewn on! He's too perfect.

Thank you so much! I can't tell you how much I love everything. <3

6  Re: Completely Ghastly Edward Gorey Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Rae-mazing on: April 22, 2013 08:18:08 PM
So I got permission to post what I sent to my partner, as I haven't heard from her in a while. I hope shes okay but I really wanted to post what I made just in case.

I made a hoopla with the cover of "the curious sofa" embroidered in felt. I also painted a poor boy who is about to be blown to bits. I didn't get a picture of the lining but it looked very "goreyesque"  I also made a velvet hairbow as well.

8  Link Plushie - The Legend of Zelda in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Rae-mazing on: April 06, 2013 01:51:47 PM
In the recent Gaming Swap, I was lucky enough to have a partner who wanted a plushie. I love making plushies more than more things, so I was SUPER stoked. One of her favorite gaming franchises is The Legend of Zelda, so Link was the obvious choice! I didn't try to make his specific to a particular game, but tried to keep him classic.

He's made of a wool blend felt, the body is machine sewn and the clothing, etc was hand sewn. I forgot to measure him before I sent him out (stupid stupid), but I think he was roughly 10 or so inches tall.

I got my package from Nadra today!!! My favorite game of ALL TIME is EarthBound for SNES. It's just the best thing ever. So, I was the happiest camper when I found, all wrapped up....

Ness! The psychic boy who's ready to save the world from aliens and also likes to eat hamburgers that he finds in trash cans. I can't even express how excited I was/am when I opened this. He's made of clay and is also, get this, a bobble head! Over the moon. He's my favorite thing ever. I think I need her to make me Paula, Poo, and Jeff to match.

I also got a very cute Pikachu purse! Pikachu's face is the flap, and his butt is on the back! SO CUTE.

And, of course, the treats. I don't know if I mentioned my obsession with chocolate covered potato chips to Nadra, but if not she read my freaking mind. Those things are ace. My boyfriend pretty much stole the chocolate bar. Smiley

Thank you SO SO SO much!!!!!!! I love everything a million times over.

10  Smaug - The Hobbit embroidery - in Needlework: Completed Projects by Rae-mazing on: December 27, 2012 02:53:45 PM
Inspired by bastetblue's Smaug embroidery, I wanted to do something similar for my dad for Christmas. I grew up reading The Hobbit with him and my sister, each of us taking a handful of dwarves and speaking their lines. So thanks for the idea! Smiley

This piece is 10" in diameter and took...I don't even know how many hours. A lot of episodes of Anthony Bourdain and Dirty Jobs. The seed beads are numerous, to say the least. I don't know what I would have done if the thread had broken and they all escaped. Cried, probably.

Thanks for looking!
