11  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Winter ravaged MN, and I won! on: January 18, 2009 08:31:48 PM
Winters in MN suck! But this year was good for business... muahahahah! I made lots of cute stuff and money is good. Please enjoy the fruits of my hand crippling labor. Yay!

My son thinks that hats should eat your head..lol.

Yay for Hobo mitts:

Lattice hats made go crazy... so crazy that I changed the pattern to try to make hearts happen... hearts dont like lattice...*sigh*

12  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Hooza for Amigurumi! on: January 18, 2009 08:20:58 PM
I love Ami's! And they love me...and they're so cute..*Dee dee dee dee dee!*
My hubby loves his Pac-Man, and bc hes a trend following monkey, he begged me for these:

And while I was busy making those, I also made McPedro, a wise-cracking cactus with an Irish accent from the web comic, Girls with Slingshots. Heres a couple of ref links: http://www.daniellecorsetto.com/GWS127.html http://www.daniellecorsetto.com/GWS267.html

13  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Purses Galore! on: January 18, 2009 08:09:14 PM
Hey guys... I feel like I've been gone forever! Nothing like a Minnesota winter to make for good business... I think we reached -41 F this year... I only wish I were kidding! But anyway, I was hella busy. Here are some of the fruits of my labor.
This was just for fun, from a pic a friend of mine found online. (pic not avail) The basic patter is what I like to call a "puff v-stitch" or "double v-stitch", which means 2 dc chain 1 and 2dc.

After that, another girl at work ordered a set for her bridesmaid! My purses are going to be part of a wedding party! Sadly enough, I wasn't invited..*grumble grumble grumble* But my purses were..so YAY! Cheesy

Close up of stitch:

Enjoy! *Smiles*
14  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / STRONG BADNESS!!! on: December 03, 2008 08:16:13 PM
So in an effort to get all my x-mas present done in time, Ive tried to limit myself to 1 day per project. That being said, I present my Strong Bad amigurumi. Here's some ref for those of you who are not familiar: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strong_Bad

From beginning to end, about 14 hrs in front of a tv and a 30 min break to play online games with the hubby. (Pogo.com is addicting!) I used all Red Heart Super Saver yarn, an F Hook and felt for the face. Its completely free-handed, no patterns. Yes, I'm aware I have no life... LOL. Enjoy! Comments appreciated.

Hey guys! Over the last few weeks, I havent posted anything, but not for a lack of restraint...lol. I just wanted to post the next care package I put together for my mom. She's been bugging me for about a month now to send her more stuff (Previous package: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=268549.msg3026072#msg3026072) bc all her friends at work want handmade hats and scarves. *sigh* This is going to be a busier holiday season than I imagined. Here it goes, hope u guys enjoy, but most of all get inspired! I also made some other stuff for X-mas gifts, which will be near the bottom.
PS. I made up all the patterns, except Rheathelya's (https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=276914.0), which I modded a little.

16  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Wedding Square**NOW W/ PATTERN!!** on: November 05, 2008 06:38:54 PM
So a VERY good friend of mine is getting married in 2010, once he's done serving in Iraq. So I decided to take on an epic afghan of doom, just bc he's been that awesome to me. ( He actually payed for MY wedding! We eloped in NY.) So after much work and help from fellow crafter DesignVigilante, I finally got this great pattern for a square I had stuck in my head, made. YAY!You can follow our process here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=277230.0 . And now, I present to you our master piece. Let me know what you think. I still have to write down the pattern, but I should have it up shortly.

Back and unweaved ends:

P.S. I also modded my idea from this pattern in combo with DV's pattern update.
17  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Wedding Gift Ideas? on: November 05, 2008 07:41:12 AM
Hey guys,
I don't usually implore the help of the crafter community, but after days of searching I feel like I'm at my wits end. A VERY good friend of mine is getting married in 2010 and I thought now would be a great time to undertake an epic afghan of doom! So far the only pattern Ive found is this:
But the one I'm looking for is a square that has two linked rings in the middle. I know I've seen it a dozen times, maybe even on here, but I cant find it at all. Can you guys please help! I'm hoping one of you might have the link bookmarked. If you do, please share! Thanks! *smiles*
P.S. I was thinking about Brown, teal and Orange for the colors... I already have the teal on hand, so if u guys can think of other color combos that would be great too.  Grin
18  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / New Fall Set on: November 01, 2008 05:31:52 AM
So, I know I havent posted anything in a while, but trust me guys... I've been a busy bee. I have tons of projects that are just lazing around, but I promise Ill get to posting all of them. It's mostly x-mas presents for everyone I know, but enough about things you cant see. This is the new fall set I made for my son, bc Walmarts all across MN are clearing out their yarn, and since I'm not one to question the yarn fairy, here's what Ive done. Yay! Enjoy!  Grin
Hat and sweater/cardigan:

Our gracious model:

This is the link for the pattern I used, but as you can tell I modded it a bit. I made the right side longer, so it would cross over, and then omitted the hood and chose a collar instead. Hope you guys like! *smiles*
19  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / For Mom, with love! on: September 12, 2008 06:07:37 PM
I decided to throw together a nice little care package for my mom; only a small thank you for all the great things she's done for me. Below is the cloche from this months Crochet Today, fan scarf (http://crochetroo.blogspot.com/2006/05/fan-bookmark.html), two pot holders (crazy crochet: http://cityofcrochet.blogspot.com/2006/10/crazy-cloth.html) and finally, some dish scrubbies (just a Brillo pad I crocheted around, but this one is made of plastic, not metal, so it wont rust) which I picked up the pattern at the MN knit and crochet expo @ the Mall of America. The hat and scarf duo is in red heart yarn and the dish cloths are 100% cotton, because nothing is too good for mom! Please let me know what u think. *smiles*
(And yes, for the first time ever I was forced to model my own work... I finished late and my son refused to stand still..lol)
