2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My first dress on: December 06, 2009 08:15:50 PM
I really liked this fabric and debated for about a month or so on what to make from it and i was sitting in front of my dress form and went "A dress! That's what I'll make".  Anyone that knows me, knows that i absolutely hate dresses but I think I would cave and wear this one..

I'm not sure if i should hem the back or leave it a little longer than the rest of it..what do you think?

you can sorta see the hemline.

I love the knots at the neckline.

I think it needs a belt or something at the waist...I'm not sure tho...

Suggestions would be great

Did you have to put elastic in them?  I have wanted to try to make my own undies for a while now after the Valentines day threadbanger show.

No, I didn't use elastic this time around, these were just an experiment this time.  And I have quite mastered my sewing machine yet..so I'm not really brave enough to try elastic Smiley

Very interesting and a great way to recycle.   Just a note, from the main showcase on the home page the first image looks like someone really wearing the undies, it looks like a crotch shot.  Cheesy

lol that was sooo not supposed to happen but you're right it does lol.  That is my dining room table lol

lol............my hubby thinks it's cute but yeah I never even thought about putting money in it (evil grin) I tried them on and put something in the pocket and you really can't tell, well I can't at least.

ha! i love it!
hey im sure that pocket will come in handy.
Can't tell you how many times i've needed a pocket and had to end up putting things like money in my shoes
(very uncomfortable) but no one will be picking your pocket! (without you realizing it, of course haha)

Ok so I got bored earlier and made a pair of undies....I don't know how functional they're gonna be but they're cute....I made them out of an old camel cigarettes tshirt that I don't wear anymore......tell me what you think.

Front view with a pocket
