1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Knitty's Center Square on: December 13, 2006 09:09:45 AM
I am using two different yarns.  the white is cascade 220, and the fucshia is lambs pride.

I will say I think the hat is too tall for me.  I feel like a cone head with it on.  I need to finish off the top and then decide either to keep it or gift it.

The pattern is really easy, and is my first try at fair isle.

I know what you mean about the white.  I am hoping since it's just up on the crown for the most part it will stay cleanish.

I think it's going to be a gift though, it's kind of long for my head.  I am doing the decreases now.

I am doing mine in fuchia and white.  I am almost done the second set of circles.  I took a pic this morning of it with one set done

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Madison's hat with link to pattern -- easy Fair Isle winter hat! on: December 04, 2006 06:17:00 PM
I am officially inspired. Cheesy  I have been wanting to take the leap into fair isle knitting and this is the pattern in which I lose my stranding virginity. Tongue

Very Pretty, thanks for the pattern.  I will post a picture when I am finished. Smiley
5  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Book of Crochet edgings? on: June 29, 2006 07:20:25 AM
I have searched the forum and I didn't see what I was looking for.  I am interested in a book that shows lots of different crochet edgings for projects.  I am a knitter, but it would be nice to be able to crochet edges on projects that need that little something extra.

Any recommendations?
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: How do you like to knit socks??? on: June 15, 2006 06:17:02 AM
I am trying two circs for the first time.  I like the idea of doing two socks at once which is why I am doing it, but I think I am doing something wrong, as my yarn keeps getting all twisted up and inbetween the cables somehow.
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Self-Striping worsted weight yarn for socks? on: June 11, 2006 12:51:34 PM
Big Mexico yarn is self striping worsted superwash.  I used it for socks for DH and I loved it.  http://www.webofwool.co.uk/socka/bigmexico.html

I am going to do this as a stashbuster I think.  I have so much yarn that I don't know what to do with.

That is seriously cool.  DH liked it a lot as well.  I wish the chart was true to size it would be fun to try.  Is it fair isle or intarsia?
