151  Wrap Dress (Thanks Kimberlina) in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by bsonlytoots on: March 11, 2008 11:05:07 AM
Ok, a little background, before any critiques! LOL

Now, keep in mind, I just started sewing clothes 2 weeks ago! And all I've done thus far is:

2 reconed tee's (for me):
#1: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=231824.msg2528315#msg2528315
#2: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=232382.msg2535002#msg2535002

And a reconed outfit for my 3 year old:

Then as I was lurking through the "real" sewing stuff, I found an adorable tute for a wrap dress by Kimberlina!

Now, I've never made a pattern, or used one, so mine came out a little wonky, but nevertheless, I think it might work out! My daughter is at school, so can't try it on yet! Enough with the jibjab, ON WITH THE PICS!

I placed a button in the back of mine because I don't think I made it wide enough to "wrap"! LOL But it will have a cute little opening at the midback!

Comments & Questions, Very welcome! I LOVE feedback!
Thanks for looking!

I made an outfit for my 3 year old daughter, using an old turtle neck, a pair of jeans that were too short for her & some butterfly fabric. This is only my 3rd recon! First outfit! Enjoy! Shirt, Jeans & Matching headband:

153  Harley Davidson T = Cute Lil Tie- up Tank! PICS ADDED (NO MORE LINKS) in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by bsonlytoots on: March 07, 2008 01:53:45 PM
OMG! I am obsessed with recons! LOL This is my second ever! This shirt was the hubby's but he never wore it because the nneck was too big for his liking! So I hacked it! It came out pretty cute, I think! Heres the starter shirt:

Here's the cuts:
NOTE: I left the neck in tact at first to make sure I sewed up the sides evenly!
I hemmed all the sides & armholes, then took some leftover black fabric and cut strips for the ties (I left them unfinished):

Side Close-up:

After I had it all sewed, I cut the neck out, and then cut a vertical line down from the center of the front to mke a vneck:

Please, tell me what you think!

Sorry about the crappy pics!

154  1st recon! Big hubby "t" to sexy halter! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by bsonlytoots on: March 05, 2008 01:19:12 PM
OK .. so I was looking to spice up a shirt and I found Craftster. I have to say I fell in love! You girls & guys do some awesome recons! I just had to try myself. I am pretty crafty, but have never tried any type of clothing! Here it is:
I started with my hubby's XXL "T" (hope he doesn't mind!):

I then cut out the front w/a low vneck, the back is actually the back of the shirt but upside down (so the hem is the top if the back), and an extra strip for the straps:

I hemmed the bottoms & outside armholes, and sewed the straps to the shirt & voila!
NOTE: I left the low v-neck unfinished!

You all were an inspiration & have made a recon-er out of me! Thanks! I had so much fun & it was waaaay easier than I thought! Comments & suggestions welcome!
Oh, also I was thinking of cutting horizontal holes in the back then one vertical & the tieing them up?? What do you think?? Thanks!
