1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Looking for hoops/card/accessories for a Brother PE150 embroidery machine on: August 11, 2019 12:19:16 PM
Hey crafty folks! I recently bought an old Brother PE150 for $20 thinking it would be fun to play around with, and didn't realize that it had none of the parts I need to actually use it. I'm looking for hoops, a memory card, and any other goodies, but the cheapest I'm finding for the hoops online is $70+shipping for the set. Since I don't know if the machine works, I don't know if I'm willing to spend that much right now. Anyone know of somewhere cheap to find parts, or does anyone have parts they're willing to sell or swap?

Oh my gosh. Those tassels are HILARIOUS! This whole gallery is a hoot. Such beautiful work, and everyone is so unique! Loving seeing these dolls with their counterparts. Smiley

I received from veghorsegirl while I was away on a road trip, but you'd better believe that opening up that parcel was one of the first things I did when I walked in the door! Little Fluffypants is TOO DARN CUTE! The details are so fabulous. From my Improv t-shirt, to my famous red blazer, to the earrings (which are actual earrings! Such a good idea!), the luscious thick hair, and my monster hat! <3 She's totally adorable and currently hanging out with a Pee Wee Herman bobblehead.

How embarrassing.

Thanks Leah! Smiley

That jointed patch-style doll is so cool! Love the style.

Veghorsegirl, I'm so glad she arrived safely! I meant to mention, you mentioned a few scars in your questionnaire so she has very light ones stitched on! She also has a little tattoo on her back if you haven't found it yet. Smiley

I sent this morning before leaving on a road trip! I didn't get to do as many little touches as I wanted, but I think she came out cute. Smiley I wanted to add a few accessories but didn't have a chance before hitting the road. But that just means there is room to create all sorts of little things for her yet. Wink

Yeow! These finger woes are making me squinchy!

I feel behind but I think I'm fairly on track. I think my plans may have just been bigger than they needed to be. I leave town for two weeks on the weekend, so I'm planning to send out on Friday. My biggest issue was finally getting around to sewing an outfit only to realize I'd hemmed it incorrectly and also somehow forgotten to leave arm holes... sigh! So now I'm on take two and I hope it ends up how I intended. Smiley

I too have a naked doll hanging around! Currently she's in my fruit bowl. And she's also armless. Hoping for a trip to the fabric store tomorrow for the perfect something (which I thought I had in the craft room but don't). Smiley

I'm so glad everything arrived safely! I have to tell the short story of the googly eyes. I had re-done Mary's eyes about four times on that painting and just couldn't get them right; she always looked tired or bored. I was so done with it at that point that I thought to myself, FINE, I'M JUST GONNA GIVE HER GOOGLY EYES. And I pulled them out of a box, plopped them on the painting, and couldn't. stop. laughing. The laughter must have helped my frustration, as I tried the eyes again, and was finally happy with them! ...But couldn't get the googly eyes out of my head. So, I decided she needed the magnetic googlies for when she is VERY excited (or has had a tipple or two)!

I made big progress on my doll the other day and I'm liking where it's going! Smiley I did a lot more Facebook stalking than I intended and have a few new ideas as well.

That hat! That embroidered dish towel! Hokey smokes! And the idea of wrapping everything in dishtowels? Genius!

I received three fabulous hoops today from LeapFeetFirst! I am not an embroiderer (though I've given it a shot and would like to try again) and am ASTOUNDED at such intricate tidy text work! And the sprinkle fabric makes me smile. I'll need to find some of my own for ... well ... no reason, I just feel like I need it. Wink

Thank you Melanie! They will be going up in either the kitchen or the craft room after I'm done ogling that insane stitching awhile longer!
