Have you tried a sealant on the boot?
Not that you mind all the decorating though right?  Wink
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Estelle Frill Seeker Scarf on: April 20, 2011 04:36:07 AM
have you ever unraveled a bath puff? the fabric is like that. you cast on the needles with one edge of it, let the rest trail behind. knit with just that edge. it really only takes one ball for a scarf.
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Jeans to funky shorts on: April 03, 2011 07:29:03 AM
i do this for all my too small jeans...
if youre feeling creative, try triangles instead of squares...(triangles made into squares, then rectangles, then sewn? if you get my crazy)
i live the shorts and will try this come summer!

5  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Choc. dipped peanut butter cookies, choc. covered strawberries, and Cupcakes on: February 13, 2011 05:46:40 AM
to solve the milky way bottom...
I make peanut butter brownies in my cupcake tin...and yes, adding them on top of the batter works best, i mean you still get some rogue filling every now and then, but all in all, it works. Cheesy
and everything looks awesome. very well presented.
6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / Re: Bake and Botch? (Or... my kitchen exploded last night) on: February 06, 2011 02:51:30 PM
Oh my goodness!
I had the same thing happen to me fifteen years ago, glass cake pan, and we were cooking in a wood cookstove. took the cake out, it was beautiful btw Smiley, and it shattered in my hands. dang good thing i had the mitts on, but I dont get it, bc my kitchen was really warm...*shrug* It's not happened since, but its a good reminder to have a healthy respect for cookware lol.

I'm really glad you and yours werent seriously injured.
and good thing you have a backup cooking method!

8  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Bake and Botch! on: January 30, 2011 10:01:28 AM
when i first started baking bread, it turned out (consistently) small(not risen) and HARD. my hubby, then best friend, would toss them back and forth with his friends and call them ninja fighting bread.
Roll Eyes  I've since learned the value of checking your yeast to make sure its gonna rise, but he's not let me live it down yet.

hmm..let me see, what other blunders do I actually want to share...lol
