1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / 365 Reasons Calendar - January (IMG plus-sized) on: August 10, 2009 10:24:16 AM
So I'm putting together a calendar for my boyfriend with a reason why I love him for each day.  I was inspired by both the numerous 52 Reasons flip books many of you have done on decks of cards as well as KatieJoy's flip calendar she made for the Repurpose a Catalog challenge. https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=307954.0

I want to give it to him for Christmas, so I'm getting started on it already. I just finished January, and in doing so figured out that it only takes me about three late nights watching Sex and the City to finish one month. I'm pretty excited about how well the first 31 days of 2010 have turned out, so I want to share. I'll post each month as I finish them. Here are some of my favourites so far...

Thanks for looking! C&C welcomed and appreciated! Smiley
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Two bracelet and earring sets: Cheating on yarn with beads on: August 18, 2008 09:37:16 AM
Usually I'm more the knitting kind, but I'm staying with my mom for the next couple weeks and she beads, so I thought I'd give it a whirl.  She's really good at it, I'm trying to get her on Craftster, but here's what I've made the past few nights.

The first is a set made with tiger eyes and some silver stuff.  I don't know what the names are but I called them tubey things and star things.

The second is pretty much the same idea, only with black beads instead of brown so I have something for nearly any outfit.

I like them; enough to wear in public anyway.  Smiley
Thanks for looking!

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / What is this? on: July 29, 2008 11:44:31 AM
Hi guys.  I'm knitting a sweater (Tubey from Knitty http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter05/PATTtubey.html)and have come to a part of the directions that say K10 M1.  I've ascertained that M means meter, but I don't know exactly what that is.  If anyone knows what it means, could you please explain it?  I'm pretty much stuck.  Thanks so much!

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Houndstooth nightmare - I need help! on: June 12, 2008 01:33:54 PM
Hi guys

I would like to make a triangular houndstooth shawl for my mom's 50th birthday, the only problem is I can't seem to make the pattern.  I've looked at other houndstooth suggestions to earlier questions, but I just can't make them work.  Do you have to cut the yarn every single time you change color?  Do you have to knit it in the round to make it come out right?  I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, but it's very frustrating.  Every time I try it just looks like a big black and white mess.  If you can offer any advice I'd love to hear it. Thanks so much!  Huh
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Toy Box (img heavy) on: June 11, 2008 05:55:01 AM
Over the past few weeks I've been busy knitting lots of toys.  Some are for my best friend's new baby, some are at the request of my boyfriend.  Without further ado, here they all are:

All together I made a Juniper berry rattle (inspired by http://www.bellalunatoys.com/forbaby/items/fruitrattles.htm ):

Three June bugs:

A mallard duck couple:

And Jacob Haller's Stegosaurus http://jwgh.livejournal.com/475358.html :

Whew! That was alot! There's more information about each (and, yes, even more pictures) on my blog http://knit-picky.blogspot.com/ .   Thanks for looking.  Tell me what you think!  Smiley
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Hoodie + Shrug = Shroodie on: May 10, 2008 03:25:36 PM
I've looked for a shrug like this for years and have never been able to find one so I just made one instead.  I love it, I think it will be perfect for summer nights around a campfire, but let me know what you think. I heart feedback. Grin

You can also check it out at my blog.  http://knit-picky.blogspot.com/

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Rockin Baby Cardi on: April 03, 2008 06:33:40 PM
This is my first project on Craftster, and my first project that hasn't been a scarf or a simple dog sweater (which I only made for practice).  There are a few mistakes, but for a first try I don't think it's too shabby.  It's for my friend's new baby - she met her husband when she auditioned for his rock band, and doesn't go for frilly pink girly crap.

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Stuck on: March 09, 2008 02:22:07 PM
Hi everybody!  I looove knitting, I've been doing it for around two years, but I'm stuck in kind of a rut.  I've only ever done scarves and a baby blanket for my friend's daughter which, really, was just a really big scarf.  I am completely baffled by anything more complicated than solid stripes, cannot read patterns because I don't know what the abbreviations mean, and circular needles...whoa.  Like I said, I love to knit, but I want to learn how to do more. I would really appreciate any help from more experienced knitters. Thanks so much!   Smiley
