1  Re: Favorite Book Swap Round 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Colorado Deb on: October 05, 2013 01:30:48 PM
Wow!!  You gotta see the neat stuff I received!!
I am going to attempt to transfer there photos off my phone.

I have never read this book so I don't have a clue how these things relate.  BUT......  I love them!  Inside the tower are words, the cat is amazingly stitched and I love the cake, I think it's a cake.  And a mini bottle to store poison in!  The card is beautiful too.  Just amazing!!

I have been at the worlds worst quilt retreat and was so excited to find a package when I got home today.   We are heading out to an Oktoberfest this afternoon but wanted to post photos asap.

2  Re: Super Simple Apron Swap - Round 3 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by Colorado Deb on: August 28, 2013 03:10:03 PM
Sorry for the delay, the first week of school is always a killer.  You all are going to be green with envy Smiley

Is this the best apron you have ever seen or what???   First off, it FITS!  there is a strap in the back that connects the shoulder straps, perfect.  Every seam in this puppy is finished. Every one!!  and can you even see that pocket?  I didn't think so, because it matches perfectly.  We took the photo outside when the giant metal chicken lives, thought that it was appropiate Smiley

Love, love, LOVE this apron, thank you!!!!!

3  Re: IYP 23: Summer Do Si Do GALLERY!! in The Swap Gallery by Colorado Deb on: June 14, 2013 06:33:02 PM
This is a few days late, sorry!  I have been chained to the sewing machine getting my class sample ready.  They have to have that before they announce the quilting class.  Finally got it done today.

What I got from gotgrey- lots of chicken stuff!!
Paintings/collage art, painted bowl, great pillow, a stuffed chicken, neck warmer for after sewing too much, hot pads and a mug rug.  There was a lot packed into that box!

I am checking in Smiley  Until school ends next week I am swamped and stressed out.

Ok....  so I have a few color choices for Elizabeth.

I would call this a spring rose garden.  Soft colors and girly.

Pinks and greens.   this is a summer palette, white background, and girly.

Love this one!  Bright blues and greens, cozy too.

This is kind of an Americana theme, countyish with red, blues and golds.

So which one do you like???

I got my second packahe from Edel!!
WOW!!  I loved the frst but I super oved getting a second, and this one had chocolate Smiley

Here is a group shot....
another grocery bag, already eaten chocolate and some great retro prints that are already matted.  All of these are really perfect for me!

More neat earings...

and this is my favorite of all...  a holder for my scissors, pins, etc that goes on the side of my sewing chair.
and this is how it is supposed to be used.. in action!,

BUT, I actually prefer to use in on my ironing board.  This solves sooo many problems I have- a place to put pins and scissors, and my board has a very annoying space that my iron cord gets stuck in and this will solve that!!!

7  A slice of summer time quilt in Quilting: Completed Projects by Colorado Deb on: October 02, 2008 07:43:37 AM
I made this for a swap, and she has received so I can finally post photos.  I think it looks juicy and like a slice of summertime sunshine, just right for making winter a littel less grey.

I am really proud of this one and happy with how it came out!  i know the pattern isn't anyting too inventive, but I did plan it out all on my own and I am pleasantly surprised that it all worked out without having to cut anything off or add any fillers.

Ok... close up of the corner-

the entire quilt-

and I did a pantograpgh on this one on my quilting machine-

I did learn a bunch about pantos doing this and there are a few bobbles and wobbles but overall I am happy with the quilting on it.  This one I had a tough time letting go.... I really, really like it!  A good size, I think the fabrics are great and I backed it in flannel so it is a good nap quilt.

let me know what you think!

I have received!

Really neat hand painted grocery bags!  These are going to come in handy and they are big enough to really use but I could fold a couple up and fit them in my purse to have when I need them.

A great reversble table runner!  The red goes PERFECT with placemats I already have and I got napkins that match the yellow/summer side.

Pillow cases!!  and an apron made out of the same material, I love aprons and they always seemt o be in the wash so extras are more then welcome!!

Really nice ear rings!!

Wonderful package.. thank you!!!!!!!!!!!

Just wanted to give a bit of a teaser.... this is the note/ideas that my partner sent me and I have been staring at the fabric and rearranging and thinking out loud here.  Just wanted to show all the notes I have been making and scribbling down Smiley   I have lots of neat extras to work with and now I just need to figure out measurements and get sewing!

Ok.. I'll be the first to post some photos!  I had a very tough time deciding on fabrics.  I have a bunch of felted sweaters here and thought I'd love another sweater bag... but wool isn't for everyone so I thought these were a safer choice.
I am sending ALL these so my partner has a choice -

and my bits and bobs...

I know it won't all be used, but maybe gives some inspiration and choices.... now, what did I forget???
