21  Re: Fill-A-Box Round 8 - THE EPIC GALLERY! (USA Flat-Rate Box, Sendouts by 8/23) in The Swap Gallery by antijamsect on: August 11, 2008 02:47:33 PM
I received (i think...i never got a DC email!) from kaymadben...here it is!

a ton of patterns, a sewing tips book, tons of sewing notions, thimbles!, charm squares of fabric (they are all great) and some AWESOME sparkly fringe-y, multicolored fabric...i think it is dying to become a unicorn stuffie, cause that's totally what i thought when I pulled it out.  THANK YOU!  I will be spending the rest of the night going through all those patterns!  How great Smiley

24  baby quilt and stuffie (img hvy) in Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies by antijamsect on: July 01, 2008 04:58:33 AM
I just made my first quilt...its a baby quilt for one of my best friends, who is due in August.  It really inspired me to try making another quilt, but I will never use the furry/fuzzy fabrics again!  I think it made everything so much harder, and I would be covered in  off white fur every time I worked on it.  I was beginning to regret my decision to make it!  But now that I am done, I am so happy with how it turned out.  I feel so accomplished!  I also made a stuffed puppy with the leftover materials.  She is a little wonky, but I think it adds to her charm Smiley
Anyway, here they are!

25  first quilt (baby quilt) in Quilting: Completed Projects by antijamsect on: June 30, 2008 10:29:23 AM
I made this for my friend Jessica who is having a baby girl soon. I used pink Minky and a furry cream material, and a cotton backing with a vintage winnie the pooh print. satin binding. It also has little satin rosettes at the intersections because I ended up tie-quilting it instead of just stitching in the ditch because the fur kept getting stuck in the sewing machine foot when I was topstitching.  I definitely do not recommend using fuzzy/furry fabrics as a beginner, it made things 100x harder!

27  Buster's new bed in Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects by antijamsect on: June 04, 2008 03:38:08 PM
Here's my parent's dog Buster modelling the dog bed I made him...how could I not when I found fabric with a dog that looks just like him on it!  The fabric dog even has a little thought bubble with a bone over his head...that is totally Buster!  Anyway, its a cotton removable cover with muslin pillow...took 7.5 bags of poly to fill it! Smiley

29  second quilted purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by antijamsect on: March 22, 2008 09:17:30 AM
This is the second quilted purse I've made with pre-quilted fabrics. Well actually second purse ever!   I used Butterick pattern 5197, purse B.  I like this purse a lot more than my first one, probably because I picked out the fabrics for this one! Smiley  The first one I made was for my mom, so she picked the fabrics out and the purse design.  I got laid off from my job about 2 months ago, so when I'm not job hunting, I've been crafting!  It's keeping me sane.
