31  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Quilted Postcards on: June 02, 2011 05:22:46 PM
I'm very pleased with how these little quilted postcards turned out:

I'm hostessing a swap elsewhere on the internet and the theme is Summer Garden. These are Moonlit Garden and Garden Produce.

I used Angelina Fibers for the moon and it really is shiny Smiley

32  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Nobody's Perfect (Even Fabric Designers) on: April 23, 2011 06:07:28 AM
I think it is beautiful.  And that is why there are so many different fabric choices, because everyone likes different things.  Wouldn't life be boring if all we had to choose from was 2 or 3 fabrics!

I so agree with this Smiley This quilt is made up of fun fabrics, though someone found many of them to be obnoxious, I laugh when I come across some of them (they are much nicer cut up SMALL).

33  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / altering clock HANDS? on: April 21, 2011 06:49:18 AM
I am making a clock and I don't care for the hands...color (gold) or size. I live in the middle of nowhere supplies-wise, so I can't just run out and get other clock kits.

Does anyone know how to adapt the hands to make them different? I know I can change the color easily, but can I do anything else to alter them?

This is a scrappy quilt made mostly from fabrics I gathered in Obnoxious Fabric swaps that I host on another site.

It is 76" X 92" and my girls tell me I should call it No Thanks, YOU Take It as they look at it and see all the weird fabrics in it, rather than the nice design that the traditional Arkansas Crossroads blocks make.

The color is off a bit in the full shot, the detail shows the colors more as they are - bright!

35  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Re: What's the name of this patchwork technique? on: February 11, 2011 05:20:22 AM
I think it is something like Mola...

could you use Command hooks instead of the Velcro ones? They shouldn't leave marks on the wall when you pull them down...

I plan to bring my blocks to a UFO day at our LQS in a couple of weeks to play with them there Smiley

39  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: laughing cow containers? on: March 09, 2010 04:11:59 PM
I had a dream about these last night...I am thinking a kind of tower where they could swing out...having most of the top cut away for each one...how to make it work?

JOY - who should be quilting a quilt with a deadline

Evil Mad Scientists Laboratories made one into a fridge magnet if that sounds like something you'd like to do. http://www.evilmadscientist.com/article.php/fridgemagnets

I like the magnet! maybe I could put some of the magnetic poetry in one...

I'll keep thinking on this. I want to make them more than just a round container that cheese came in Smiley
