I remember that book!  those pants are cool.  it sounds like it was a really great present for your sis!  I love stuff that's way personal like that.

that's a cool trick!  I must try that after the snow melts and it's not freezing outside where all the pavement is.

oh, and it's pop around here.  Smiley
1993  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re:ok so i am a spaz. on: January 30, 2004 07:36:25 PM
the funny thing is, most people have that problem with fuzzy yarn...  I only did it with normal acrylic!

yup, I was a spaz...  especially when I was little and learned to knit for, oh, two weeks before I gave up.  lol

oh, I'm sorry, hun!  I was totally thinking you meant us...  but now that I read your post again I can kind of see what you meant.  you must have meant another site, right?  just glad that got cleared up.

if I find any more links than I already posted, I'll be sure to add those, too.
1995  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Coffee Tins, Glass Jars, Plastic Containers on: January 30, 2004 02:36:42 PM
this is very off topic, but it makes me remember the trading spaces where this family had a soup can under each leg on the back of their couch because the legs were missing...

hehe.  being a newbie, I have to admit that you guys really do rock.   Grin

and please don't get put off by a few people.  it's not worth it.  you guys have so much to share!  it's like the old saying, "don't let one bad apple ruin in the bushel."

edit:  lol.  right after I posted this, it bumped me up to "jr. member".  I have really bad timing...
1997  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re:Roll On Wire Bracelet on: January 30, 2004 02:30:31 PM
I made one like that a little while ago, using these instructions.  it's basically the same idea, just a little different look!

1998  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re:MORE MARBLE FUN! on: January 30, 2004 02:25:51 PM
I tried doing that once, but the glue I used didn't stick well enough.  I'll have to find that other kind you mentioned and try it again!
1999  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re:stem glass markers on: January 30, 2004 02:25:11 PM
I so love the idea of stem markers...  if only I were young enough to drink or my parents did!
2000  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re:HELP on: January 30, 2004 02:10:01 PM
first of all, it's really hard to learn how to knit without having someone show you.  if you know anyone who knits, I'd reccomend you ask them (nicely) to show you how.  I didn't have anyone, and it was pretty hard sometimes.

http://www.stitchguide.com/  is a really good site.  go look at your public library, I'm sure there's lots of books.

Here are some more sites I found when I did a yahoo search.  they all look pretty useful.

edit because apparently look is spelled "lok" now...  heh.
