11  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: How much $$$ for Vogue Patterns where you live? on: October 13, 2005 06:02:54 PM
Usually Vogue patterns are pretty expensive uhm I'm guessing around $20?  I don't think I have ever bought one full price I usually wait until they go on sale.  Joann Fabrics usually has them on sale for like 50% off every few months.  Sometimes they are on sale on the website too.  Hope thats helpful.
12  Oregon / Oregon: Northwest / Visiting Portland Big Thread on: October 12, 2005 06:41:21 AM
So right now I am a college student, but by the end of this summer I'll be a college graduate (YAY!!!  Smiley ) And I really want to be Americorps next year, and I am leaning towards programs in Portland.  I'm from Massachusetts by the way, and I've spent two years living in Vermont.  Does anyone have an advice, thoughts, suggestions or anything that could help me out??

Oh and I love to knit and sew so fabric and yarn stores are a huge plus.

Thanks so much!!

Well I have found one group.  There is a Stitch n Bitch that meets on Wednesday nights outside Sweets n More (its on the orchard hill part of Umass campus) AND there is also a college drop in knitting group at WEBS in northampton on Friday afternoons from 3-5 but thats all I've found.

There is also a Stitch n Bitch on UMass campus on Wednesday nights.  Anyone who wants more info can send me message and I can give you all of the details.

Yes you have been busy = ) amazing job.  I wish my classes didn't get in the way of my sewing and knitting
16  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Re: Wavy gravy! yay! on: September 26, 2005 06:47:53 AM
Its beautiful, I love the colors.  I'll have to add this pattern to my "to knit" list, which is getting very long.  Silly classes and work keep getting in the way of my knitting.
I would probably give it to the gay man, but thats just me.

I'm at Umass, but I do know where Hampshire is.  I paint, take waaay too many pictures, draw, sew, knit and crochet.  Oh and I'm also learning silk painting at the Umass craft center next weekend.
Should we try to organize some sort of crafty get together?  I'm new at Umass but there must be some crafty people around here.

I am starting at Umass Amherst in the fall, and all of the other Western Mass threads are kind of old so I thought I'd start a new one.  If anyone wants to get together out there and do some crafty stuff or has any recommendations on places I should shop or things to do I'd appriciate them.
