1  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Random Acts of Kindness (RAOK) and Art Abandonment / Froggy on: August 08, 2018 09:55:42 PM
Painted a lovely little frog to hide at the lake Smiley Grin

My kids love to catch frogs and play with them.  My hopes is another child would keep this little guy as a pet, rather than possibly hurting a live one.

2  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 120 ENTRIES / Scarves for the homeless. on: October 08, 2017 07:42:52 PM
This past week I crocheted some scarves and my children and I donated them to people waiting outside our local homeless shelter.  There are no pictures of the recipients out of respect for them.  My children enjoyed it very much.  The weather here was -4 the day we delivered them.  In the next month it could be as cold as -40!  We decided to make this a monthly trip of giving Smiley

P.s. as a side note my youngest 2 children we adopted from Foster Care 5 years ago.  They loved being able to be part of giving back.
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / ISO Loops and Threads "Twirl" on: August 22, 2017 04:01:59 PM
I know this yarn is discontinued.  I recently started a project for myself with yarn i had stashed away.  I am looking for any color of this yarn, even partial balls. I need at least 6 full to finish the project.  Please send me a message if you have any stored away with price.  Thanks!
P.s.  if you know of a yarn that looks like this particular style as well I would love to know!
4  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Foxy from FNAF (Five Nights at Freddies) Pic Heavy on: November 06, 2016 03:05:54 PM
My son really really wanted to go as Foxy.  However all we could find was either an $80 costume, or a $5 plastic mask.  So we set out to make his costume from scratch.   I started with plaster casting his head.  Making the frame work for the mask.  Getting my 2 littles to help paper mache. Then paint and add on the extras.  (Eye patch is optional.)  After that, I made his shirt with anamatronic insides and his anamatronic glove.  I also made a brushed yarn tail.  The only part of the costume we purchased was the $2 hook from the dollar store.  Everyone that saw him commented on it.  And now the mask is hanging on his wall as art Smiley  I added a bonus pic on the bottom of the post as to what he was supposed to look like.
Finished product first.

The making of Foxy

The brushed yarn tail that I made from a tutorial on Pinterest.

The glove and part of the shirt.

And lastly.  What Foxy looks like when playing Five Nights at Freddies.

Thanks for looking.  If you like my project please vote for it!  Thanks all!
5  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 86 ENTRIES / Steampunk Art Doll on: May 03, 2013 03:35:35 AM
I made this doll for an Art Doll swap.    Her name is Countess Fedilia Cicily Plumb.

I really enjoyed making her!  She is fully jointed, right down to her fingers!  I couldn't find a single pattern where I liked everything, so I mixed a bunch of patterns together, and made changes to fit my fancy, lol.

Here is the link to the gallery of that swap. https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=414625.0#axzz2SDmL5fSQ  She is posted on page 5.  And shoutout...my partner was "mightyminniemouse"!

6  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 81 ENTRIES / Pretty Peacock on: December 04, 2012 02:01:12 PM
I made this for a friend for a swap, and figured it would fit perfectly in this challenge.  Its a mash up of some of her pins on pinterest.  Inspired by these and this.

Its roughly 5 inches tall. And made entirely of felt, and lots and lots of embroidery floss.

I should have used the flash on this one.

Close up of peacock.

Close up of some of the details.

Hope you enjoy!
7  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Simple dress for 4 year old on: April 10, 2012 06:21:39 PM
My 4 year old and I were going through my fabric stash when she announced she wanted a green dress.  We found some fabric she liked....and free styled a dress.  No pattern, just fun!  She loved helping make it!

Its actually really cute without the belt too!  I'll try and get a picture of it to post.

9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Father Christmas on: January 09, 2012 08:30:12 AM
I made this for my mom for Christmas.  His face is fabric sculpted. First time I had ever tried it.  I think he turned out pretty cute.

10  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Steampunk keeper on: January 09, 2012 08:27:28 AM
I made this for a friend.  Its my first ever steampunk project.  And I think it turned out alright.  I made with a papermache book from Michaels, polymer clay, acrylic paint, and odds and ends for added pizazz.

The picture is of an angel and a trumpeter.
