481  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Jar of Stars Gallery - send outs extended to 12/13/2011 on: December 29, 2011 08:33:36 PM
I got this little note in my mailbox yesterday, but couldn't make it into the city until today.  When I got there, it was my stars from c*lientje.  I literally squeeled when I opened it and saw the "lucky stars" origami paper.  I've been looking for it here, and can't seem to find it anywhere!  So here is the package, along with the finished folded origami stars (which I just had to finish today.)

So far, I find myself truly "lucky"  There isn't a single star from any of my partners that haven't been perfect!

Its actually a wooden cutout star from Michaels.  Its the only star I didn't physically make, I only painted it.

but my favourite in the package is the teeny black and blue one in the bottom of this picture:

Grin So glad you loved them!  I always get nervous when I send my projects to others, because I never know if I will send what they would actually like.   The black star that you like is actually the first one that I made for the swap.  (2 of your clay stars glow in the dark too!)

Thanks badpuppy!  Glad you like them! Grin  I know you said you wanted forest theme.  So I did my best to felt the earth and forest element, and the blue one with buttons is suppose to be a tree...lol.  It didn't quite turn out like I wanted...lol
As well, if you didn't get the msg earlier back...2 of the clay stars glow.  The black one with the beads on it, and the orange marble star with the 3 little stars on it.

Today is the day that her gift gets picked up. They are going to take it to her on Christmas Eve.  I didn't want to take it to her myself.  I really didn't want to add more germs into her environment than she already has. Thanks everyone for the messages about this project.  It feels great to be able to give back!

I'm posting this after a msg conversation I had with Leslieshappyheart.  I just wanted to let you all know that this project you did for your friend, has encouraged me to do that same!

Thanks for sharing with me!  Here's a link to my project.

I got inspired by Leslieshappyheart and her "Hope" hearts that she made for a friend.  So, when I found out that my friends mom was diagnosed with cancer and would be in the hospital for chemo over Christmas, I asked Leslie if I could please use her idea.

I decided to make it a little different, but still the same  Smiley  My jar is filled with Strength and Courage and a whole bunch of Hope.  I plan on attaching a sappy card with words of encouragement.  That when she is feeling down, her jar is full of the stuff she needs to keep going.  Grin Hope you all like it.

The jar in all its glory.

The hearts all together.

The fabulous heart my 11 year old daughter made all by herself!
(sorry for the blurry pic)

Courage

Strength
(once again sorry its blurry)

I really am hoping this will lift her spirits.  Thanks for checking it out!
