1  Froggy in Random Acts of Kindness (RAOK) and Art Abandonment by dessadoll on: August 08, 2018 09:55:42 PM
Painted a lovely little frog to hide at the lake Smiley Grin

My kids love to catch frogs and play with them.  My hopes is another child would keep this little guy as a pet, rather than possibly hurting a live one.

2  Scarves for the homeless. in CHALLENGE 120 ENTRIES by dessadoll on: October 08, 2017 07:42:52 PM
This past week I crocheted some scarves and my children and I donated them to people waiting outside our local homeless shelter.  There are no pictures of the recipients out of respect for them.  My children enjoyed it very much.  The weather here was -4 the day we delivered them.  In the next month it could be as cold as -40!  We decided to make this a monthly trip of giving Smiley

P.s. as a side note my youngest 2 children we adopted from Foster Care 5 years ago.  They loved being able to be part of giving back.

3  Foxy from FNAF (Five Nights at Freddies) Pic Heavy in Halloween Costumes by dessadoll on: November 06, 2016 03:05:54 PM
My son really really wanted to go as Foxy.  However all we could find was either an $80 costume, or a $5 plastic mask.  So we set out to make his costume from scratch.   I started with plaster casting his head.  Making the frame work for the mask.  Getting my 2 littles to help paper mache. Then paint and add on the extras.  (Eye patch is optional.)  After that, I made his shirt with anamatronic insides and his anamatronic glove.  I also made a brushed yarn tail.  The only part of the costume we purchased was the $2 hook from the dollar store.  Everyone that saw him commented on it.  And now the mask is hanging on his wall as art Smiley  I added a bonus pic on the bottom of the post as to what he was supposed to look like.
Finished product first.

The making of Foxy

The brushed yarn tail that I made from a tutorial on Pinterest.

The glove and part of the shirt.

And lastly.  What Foxy looks like when playing Five Nights at Freddies.

Thanks for looking.  If you like my project please vote for it!  Thanks all!

4  Re: OTT October Holidays 8 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by dessadoll on: October 17, 2016 11:34:05 AM
I got the cutest little crow from tabzilla.  He is currently residing on my computer desk.  I love the details she put into the little claws, and all the feathers.  His eyes seem to follow wherever I move.
Thanks for being my partner!
Sorry the one picture keeps flipping sideways.  I give up. lol

Here is the echidna from a different angle.  I don't know what convinced me it need to be made this way, except crazyda79 had mentioned wall art, had hooplas and crafted taxidermy on her pinterest.  I figured why not just throw it all together  Grin

I feel like a bad partner. I received nearly a week ago and didn't post pictures yet.  My computer at home decided to go belly up, and since I didn't want to wait any longer, I am loading them from work.  Shocked  Being a nurse I have had some funny looks from coworkers as I scanned the gallery again. lol  Everything looks amazing!

First off, I need to show off the card.  Its too funny-creepy-lovely not to share.

craftylittlemonkey made my something I didn't actually think would get picked!  A puppy-monkey-baby  Grin  If you haven't seen the commercial yet for Mountain Dew Kickstart....you should.  My kids (esp my son) think this creature is the creapiest thing ever.
If you notice the string to the left, when pulled, PMB actually dances around and swings its limbs.  Its currently hanging just inside my livingroom doorway, so everyone gets the joy of seeing it daily.

The face is my favorite part.

And some crafty extras she sent along Smiley

Thanks for the fabulous package craftylittlemonkey!!!

7  Re: Sweat Shoppe ORNAMENT Swap Round 6 (signups end 10/17, send by 11/17) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by dessadoll on: October 15, 2015 01:55:47 AM
Just sent in my questionnaire.  This is my offering this year.  (picture of my hand is just to show size)  Its hard to get the glitter on the little guys face to show up in pictures, but it has a light glitter effect.

p.s. sorry the pics are sideways, but you get the idea.

I am finally able to post pictures!!  And I am sorry now that you may have to crank your head sideways to see them.  No matter how many times I tried to load them, they always flipped.

Posting in the order received.

First is a really cute one from Jenn9000, already in my book club book Smiley  I never would have thought to do the folds in the paper like she did, it turned out really neat.

Second, Riechan and I agreed on 3 bookmarks.  She did a lot of homework. lol.  Not only am I a nurse, but I also love fairies Smiley
I seriously wish I could draw like this!

Next one, is an ECG strip with a heart.

And the 3rd, is some beautiful butterflies, with a "color your own" zen doodle on the back.

Thank you both for being awesome partners!!

9  Re: Craft with a Fat Quarter Swap Round 3 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by dessadoll on: October 15, 2015 01:23:55 AM
I finally found a way to post my pictures of the fabulous package I received from edelC.  I can't get pictures to load from my phone...and computer at home is being dumb....so I am finally at work and posting from here.  (I am a nurse so I only work 12 days a month.)

She sent me a nursing pocket organizer belt!  I have been wanting one of these, but never find the time to make one for myself.  I will be picking up some strapping for the belt and will be using it shortly.  She also sent me a beautiful mug rug with some crazy intense stitching, and an awesome little pouch, and a bookmark. Somehow she made the bookmark stiff, I assume she stitched through cardboard.  Edel, you must have an amazing machine!

She also sent some cool fat quarters, the green one is my favorite Smiley

10  Re: July, August, September 2015 Birthday Swap! Gallery and Discussion in The Swap Gallery by dessadoll on: August 21, 2015 11:40:14 PM
I got 2 wonderful packages this week...however I am once again on a stretch of nights (nurse) so its been hard to get pictures loaded.  So I am posting from work since I couldn't do it at home.

First off is my package from cmouse01.
She sent me a lovely toque and cowl for our winters.  Where I live we have snow pretty much from the start of October til the end to middle of April.  It can be anywhere from -10 to -50 all in the same week! So I will get tons of use out of these!

Second is my package from RaraAvis.
I love reading and usually have many books on the go.  I think only 4 at this particular time, lol.  She sent 4 velvet bookmarks with cute charms/jewels on each end, some Orange is the New Black bookmarks, a fabulous package of embroidery floss, and a chocolate bar (which I forgot to take a picture of).

Thank you both very much for claiming me!!!  Your cards are in the mail!

I sent my package to Lo{ve} today as well.  I can't wait to see what she thinks!!!  Its always nerve wracking when you take your own artistic liberty in a project.
