Because I'm leaving for 5 month for an internship in Austria (I'm living in Germany) I made some kind of loveletter (how I call it) for my boyfriend who stays here.

I made a CD and put all the lyrics and some pictures in a self-binded booklet. All the lyrics are loveletters in a way so he will not forget that I love him Wink

Here are some pictures:

some pages

one of my favourite pages (left one)

the titles are made with different colours and rubber stamps.
the lyrics are printed, cut out and glued.

I hope my bf likes it as much as I do.

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: My lovely graduation dress :) on: June 28, 2008 09:06:27 AM
Just beautiful! And congrats to your Abitur!! What are you going to do next (study? Ausbildung? travel?)? Do you already know?
And what is the colour? Is it more flaschengrn or more into the dunkel-trkis? (sorry, to the English-mothertonge people here, I don't know the exact English words for these colours)
So enjoy your graduate-party.

A tut would be just wonderful

9  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Best Recipe For Rhubarb Cake With Meringue Ever on: May 16, 2008 06:25:41 AM
I think rhubarb (or gooseberrys *yummy*) are very often paired with meringue (i hope I looked up the right word Wink ) here in Germany. You can also use other fruit with this recipe, but rhubarb is my favourite and gooseberrys my second favourite.

10  COOKING / Dessert / Best Recipe For Rhubarb Cake With Meringue Ever on: May 16, 2008 01:13:27 AM
Before I start I just have to say: I just love this recipe. I love how the sourness of the rhubarb goes with the sweet chrunchyness of the meringue.
The numbers in the recipie will seem a little strange because I had to convert them from metric system (hope it all went right)

First of all, a list of ingredients:

someting between 3/4 and 1 cup of sugar (200 gramms sugar)
a little less than 3 cups of flour (330 g. flour)
1 teaspoon baking soda
a little less than 1 cup of magarine or butter (200 g Magarine)
2.2 pound of rhubarb (1 kg rhubarb)
7 egg yolk

for the meringue:
a little more than 2 cups sugar
7 eggwhite

now: how to make the cake:
Peel the rhubarb and cut it into little squares
Take the magarine and make it like foam with a blender then add the sugar and again blend it.
Part the eggs into the eggwhite (we will need that later) and the yoke. Add the 7 egg yokes to the magarine and sugar.
Mix the flour and baking soda and again add it to the rest. It is better when you use your hands to work the dough because it is some kind of wet and gluey.
The dough should look like this (not fluid but not dry, it should stick on your hands)

You have to grease you baking tray with magarine or use baking paper
(i used a spring form for a birthday, when you do this you have enough dough for two spring forms)

Press the dough in there as regular as possible with your hands (and don't forget the sides of the spring form/baking tray):

Now just put on the rhubarb onto the dough:

For the meringe clean you blender very carefully from the dough. Put the eggwhites in a clean bowl and start to blend. Then add the sugar slowly (not all at once) and keep whiping the eggs on highest setting until they are foamy and stiff.
Put this on the rhubarb and bake it at 350 Fahrenheit (180 Celsius). The recipe says for one hour but this is too long in my oven (this span of time comes from my mothers very old oven). The cake is ready to eat when the meringue is brown on top and the dough is still a little bit wet.

Enjoy and please excuse my bad English.
