1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / checkered sun dress on: December 30, 2008 09:32:40 PM
So at somewhere around 1 a.m. [roughly three and a half hours ago] i got the wild hair up my a$$ to attempt to make this [https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=50712.0] dress as a prototype for  a bridesmaid dress i'm making for my best friends wedding.  which means i'm going to be getting pretty good at this whole dress business, since i'll be making at least three more if this dress works, and if it doesn't then another prototype, and another after that. . .anyway- i'm griping because it's 4:36 a.m. and i still have to clean up my kitchen but i wanted to sit down so i thought i'd post said dress on craftster  Grin

anyway so here it is, still strapless and un-hemmed[ Undecided ] but mostly finished.  Tongue

[formatted for when the pictures get on the internet. . .]
the fabric i used:

the dress:

my first [working] attempt at invisible zippers!  and it worked! yay:

i think i may wear this for new years day at disneyland with my mom:

it's fully lined with muslin, since it's the only fabric i had that i was willing to use as lining for this that wouldn't make the white squares look funky. . .

any comments/feedback would be appreciated!!
much loves!

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / skirts on: February 27, 2008 03:10:19 PM
this is probably the third or fourth time i've attempted to post these. . .my computer has been hating me a little... Cry

so  here i have two different skirts for you

this is probably my favorite pattern for skirts.  they're nice and flowy and turn out so cute.  the only problem i have with them is hemming the waistband and the skirt bottom because they're curved so it's a constant battle to get the hem right. . .(so with these, i tend to take bias tape or ribbon or lace and just sew it surrounding the hem.  easier, most definately)

and Second:

different pattern, and outcome.  i think i need to go to joanns and find something i can use as a really easy waistband. . .because just hemming stuff and drawstrings aren't going to cut it. . . Undecided

i made a third skirt but don't have pictures of it yet, with plain black fabric on one side, and black with multi-colored hearts on the other.  it's really cute, and in the same pattern of the first skirt.

((thanks for looking))
