1151  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: chicken condo on: December 14, 2008 04:27:50 PM
That's awesome. My grandmother has a chicken, but unfortunately takes up the laundry room 'cause her past owners were uncaring. (she kind of came with the house). My grandmother would love to have something like that to put her in it... What a wonderful idea.

That's amazing! I especially love how the eyes aren't the safety eyes. One of my ferrets rips them out like nothing. (and I think he does it just to spite me) That would be a perfect craft for my babies. ^ ^ Genius.

Oh my gosh... I love that... I have four ferrets of my own, and they only have the icky mass produced ferret fishy bed from the store.... WAY TO GO ORIGINALITY!!! I love it when everybody starts with the same thing and totally makes it different. Much applause for you!! Much applause for tabooCREATIONS on the tutorial too!

Those are so cute! I totally agree. Those are gift worthy. I admire your rounding skills... I can never make hats or anything of the sort... I fail desperately. I think your mistakes are beautiful. ^ ^ Keep crafting!
1155  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Re: First-time swapper troubles: an organizer's perspective. on: December 14, 2008 04:00:27 PM
Mmk... Thank you...  Cry I'm sorry... It just frustrated me to see that, because I've been other places that had certain criteria that just completely excluded me and didn't give me a chance... I guess I got kind of hasty... I'm sorries... I guess I sound kind of rude too... but I didn't mean to be. Thank you for telling me. Sorry I kind of wasted your time too...
1156  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Re: new.. but want to join a swap. on: December 14, 2008 03:37:27 PM
I understand that I am unable to swap because of my posts (which was not true at one time, I did have more posts, but then it dropped back down to zero when I wasn't frequently on for a while.) But I guess I just got confused at the requirements. Why does it list the organizer's requirements when the organizer has already become such? I think that it's confusing to have that right at the top. Ty.

Hey everybody! I'm a newbie, and let me say first, that I think you all have really great ideas. I like the idea of taking a quiz over the rules, because I honestly take time to read and try to the best of my ability, understand them, all of them. I am willing to oblige to the van halen clause, and even a minimum age, (I'm only 17). What I don't think is very welcoming, though, is when just about every (if not every) swap REQUIRES in its own rules list, that you have to have two swaps under your belt, at least. ...I can understand it for some swaps, but it just seems to be every swap... Almost nobody new can get in, because nobody wants to give them a chance.... I have been interested in swaps for a long time, and I am really anxious to get the chance to craft for somebody else, because I think it would be really great to share and get to know each other, but I've been unable to. I know a few craft skills, and I really want to swap, but I'm a newbie, and I think it would be rude to pm the organizer asking to be let in, but don't fill in a (slightly) unjust general rule among most organizers... I would really like to have some INTERESTING swaps available to newcomers... I wish some of the organizers would take that to heart, because I'm a deeply methodical and honest person, and I know I'm not alone... Thank you for reading my post...
1158  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Re: new.. but want to join a swap. on: December 14, 2008 03:08:58 PM
How do i go about joining one?... most that i've looked at say you have to have completed two sucessful swaps to join... so how does a newbie get to participate?

That seems to be a common source of confusion - you only have to have done two swaps to ORGANIZE, and the organizer's credentials go on the TOP of the swap form. Almost every swap will take a new swapper, you just have to meet the basic requirements (been a member long enough, made enough posts).

As an organizer, I urge you to read the swap FAQ posted above in its entirety before you start a swap! Smiley

Sad Antarcticraft, I don't mean to be rude, but that's honestly not true... I went through almost all the swaps, (which there were not a lot of them to begin with) and they said in their requirements, that they will check to make sure that you have had two successfully completed swaps done. So you can't get into a swap, because no one will give you a chance to swap.
1159  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Re: any first timer swaps going on now? on: December 14, 2008 02:58:57 PM
I have that problem too.... I really want to participate in a swap, but none that I can tell, allow first timers... ...At the disgression of the organizer, of course they're going to decide that you have already done two swaps to make their jobs eaiser (which I don't blame them) so... It's pretty difficult for a first timer to get into swapping. I really want to... but if we send in a request, then we'll just be denied... so we have no options. Sad
