11  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Monster outfit for 1 year old on: March 19, 2013 07:54:22 PM
Gift just finished.  Hope the parents of the baby have a sense of humour!  Bought onesie and appliqued face.  Pants are Made By Rae big butt baby pants pattern (wonderful pattern - I use it often) with the face appliqued on the 'butt' panel.
12  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Button necklace on: December 05, 2012 01:18:52 PM
Bright and happy summer necklace.  Great with plain Tee or linen shirt.
13  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Gift for sewing/quilting friend on: December 05, 2012 12:54:14 PM
I am making these for gifts.  Easy printing on fabric tutorial: http://www.polishthestars.com/2010/08/how-to-print-on-fabric.html  I used free keypad clip art and free font.  Measures approx 5" x 3 1/2".  Stuffed with the remnants of an old cushion.  Could have Velcro or a magnet added on the back and stuck to a sewing machine.  I'm so pleased with the result!
14  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Felt scraps and random bead necklace on: October 21, 2011 01:19:08 PM

I didn't have a big enough selection to make a chunky odd bead necklace so cut some small felt squares to fill the gaps.  Whaddaya think?
15  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Chunky French/spool knitted necklaces x 3 on: October 20, 2011 03:05:43 PM
I find doing French/spool knitting very relaxing.  Here are 3 necklaces I've made rececently and I have lots of plans for more color combinations.  They're great to wear with Tshirts and linen shirts and tunics (even if the look is a bit 60's! LOL).

16  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Dimensional Magic and Microbead ring on: October 17, 2011 11:10:32 PM

Oval silver ring blank filled with Dimensional Magic and turquoise Microbeads (also known as Beedz), 4 layers, one at a time with drying for a few hours after each layer, pouring Dimensional Magic and a few microbeads into it each time until it was up to the rim.  It's for my daughter who loves this color.  I told her was thinking of putting a small triangle of silver foil or paper sticking out of the top to look like a shark's fin, as it looks like a lagoon or a swimming pool!  LOL   She was very glad I didn't do that and spoil the whole thing, although I thought it was quite a fun idea!  Resin can be used in place of the Dimensional Magic but I didn't have any on hand.
17  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Fabric book for my grandson's first birthday on: October 10, 2011 11:35:53 PM
Our son and his family recently moved from New Zealand (where we live) to Australia, and of course we really miss them.  Our grandson will be a year old in a few weeks so I made him this cloth book of our little "farm", where we live, so he can learn to recognize the different animals and critters we have here, and also Grandpa and Grandma!   We hope to visit them in January.  The book is made from fleece with fabric and felt scraps, roughly appliqued, and held together by 3 journal/filing rings (those rings with hinges - not sure what they're called).  They make the book easier for little hands to turn the pages.

18  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Pattern/tutorial for cash system budget wallet? on: August 25, 2011 12:42:33 AM
My DIL is 'trying' (!) to do Dave Ramsey's cash budgeting system and asked me to make her a suitable wallet.  It will have to have 4-5 separate zippered compartments (for the different cagegories, e.g. groceries, gas, etc.) to hold coins and notes, plus a section for cards, e.g. library card, drivers licence, video store, etc. (maybe 6?).  I've looked through the wallet patterns here and done a more general search too but haven't found anything suitable.  I can probably work out the the zippered purse parts (simple lined purse with zipper?), but wonder how to join them all together at the base without making lots of seams and doing oversewing because that will make it more bulky, and having coins and notes in all those separate compartments will make it bulky anyway.   Any suggestions?  Advice and links would be appreciated.  Thanks.
19  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / More toddler outfits on: August 19, 2011 12:24:02 AM
I'm enjoying sewing for my 9 month old grandson and other babies we know of a similar age.  I love how easy it is to dress up a plain inexpensive onesie with appliques, don't you?  (This is the rear view of the pants which have contrasting fabric in the butt panel.  The onesie has the applique on the front though.)

I posted a pic of these owl pants last week, but have now made a onesie to match.  (Of course the owl is on the behind of the pants and on the front of the onesie.  I just photographed them together here.)

And these are another pair of monster pants for a little boy, friend of my DD's.  I'm still waiting for the Mom to get back to me with his waist measurements so that I can put the elastic in the waistband.
20  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Big Butt Owl toddler pants on: August 13, 2011 10:30:48 PM
From the Made By Rae pattern, Big Butt Baby Pants.  After having fun making the monster butt ones last week, this is my next creation!  My grandson looked so cute in his monster pants.  (If you'd like to see him in them, check my blog - link below.)
