51  Re: DIY Craft Kit Rd 12 in The Swap Gallery by SiakelA on: August 05, 2010 05:00:07 AM
I got my very cool bag kit a couple days ago! Sorry I didn't post sooner, but my Grandma is in the hospital (she's ok now, just more tests) and yesterday was my birthday. So the past two days turned out very busy for me. Cheesy

I love this green fabric! It's just perfect.

I love that she sent me gutermans, since all of my thread is that brand. Also the intructions she sent look very clear, and detailed enough for me to be able to figure it out Cheesy I'm super excited.

53  First Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by SiakelA on: July 16, 2010 08:01:14 AM
I made my first bag! I love the color combo, and I think it turned out OK. I made a couple mistakes, but overall it's servicable and I know the next one will be much better. Cheesy I'm also proud of using my first zipper. Woo me!

I used this tute https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=176509.0 Thanks!

54  Re: $4.95 Swap AKA Fill a SMALL Flat Rate Box R2 Goodie Gallery in The Swap Gallery by SiakelA on: July 02, 2010 07:42:34 PM
I'm so glad you guys liked your boxes! Cheesy

I got mine from crafty-in-tally a while ago, but I was having camera issues. I ended up using my phone, uploading to facebook, saving to computer, and uploading to craftster! How does having more technology seem to always make things more complicated?  Roll Eyes

I got some fantastic fun-yarn, a pattern for a messenger bag that I can't wait to make, some gutterman's thread which is perfect, weird orange stuff, and great beads!! I particularly love the kanji beads and the spool of thread charm Cheesy

close up of the great beads in the plastic case. I see these becoming some great bookmarks and zipper pulls Cheesy

Thanks for being my partner!!

55  My first sewing project! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by SiakelA on: June 18, 2010 07:17:51 PM
Ok, it's actually my first since I made a terrible pillow and teddy bear in 10 years ago in home ec. I'm pretty sure it still counts though. Smiley

I got my sewing machine as a wedding gift last month, and I finally had a chance to use it on these pillow cases! I'm really proud, because I just copied the design of my other cases, and figured out my machine by myself. It took me about 6 hours to figure it out and get it all together. I think the next thing will be really fast though, because almost all of the actual work was done in the last hour or so. Any who, on to the pics!

Sorry for the image quality, I took these photos with my phone. I was just really excited to get pics up right away!

The whole shebang-

Sorry about the crummy photo edit job. I figured you wouldn't want to see DH walking through the background in his superman boxers Cheesy

Very awesome recipe! I love trying out new things, and who can resist cookies?

My almost favorite thing - with my favorite quote! I really love this frame!

the best gift ever - a spoon holder for my sink, with spoons to match!

57  Re: Link to the Past Crochetalong in Crochetalongs by SiakelA on: January 17, 2010 08:10:46 PM

I'm going to do this one. I haven't fully graphed it due to my computer only having paint and deciding to mess up the colors a little. But over all I think I can work with this pic.

I just came up with this about an hour ago, found the image and then this thread. Smiley I'm going to count up the squares and buy the yarn in the next few days.

What I do know is it will be 29 x 19 squares and I'll do it in 2inch squares. Should end up about 4'10"x3'2".  I'm excited Smiley
