2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Tea Cosy on: April 10, 2007 02:37:25 AM
Hi there,

My mother-in-law saw an old episode of the Martha Stewart Show and she told me that there was a segment with a teapot in that had a very nice knitted or crocheted cosy, it seems that it had some frills.

If anyone has seen this and can tell me where to find a photo of it because i want to make her a similar one as a gift for her birthday.

3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / crochet baby hats made with leftover yarn on: February 12, 2006 10:40:13 PM

i had some leftover yarn so i croched these hats for a friend's baby. they're very easy and quick to make, it just takes a couple of hours (less if you're fast).
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / knitted baby items on: February 12, 2006 10:37:36 PM

i made these for a friend's baby, i also knitted a duck and stuffed it with some filling, but forgot to take the picture! the daisy on the cardi is crochet and it matches the buttons (they are daisies as well)
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / knitted cable scarf on: February 12, 2006 10:33:50 PM

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / My Loopy Sweater! on: January 11, 2005 11:04:31 AM
This is the first sweater i have ever designed, i usually write patterns for baby clothes, but it turned out better than i had expected. I'm not sure why i chose to make the loopy collar, but the idea came to me in the middle of the night, and i decided to try it out. Your input is appreciated.

this is one of me wearing it, stupid idea to try to photograph myself Smiley

an upclose of the collar, although the actual colors of the yarn are much nicer in reality, they're shades of chocolate brown, camel, navy, and blue
7  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / cheap solution for dry, flaky face on: January 05, 2005 12:48:26 PM
i just read this in the Dailycandy website, i haven't tried it but it seems to be worth a try...

"Nothing soothes water-starved faces like A+D Diaper Rash Cream. (Yes, really. Sometimes salvation comes in the most unlikely forms.) Cortisone may fight flakiness. All those prettily packaged hopes-in-a-jar may smell great. But there's a tiny miracle in A&D's magical blend of zinc oxide and aloe. And it costs a mere six bucks."

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / please help me to understand the pattern instrucions... on: January 01, 2005 08:53:50 AM
so i'm making this cardigan, and this is what the pattern says:

cast on 74 sts.
1st rib row: K2, [p2,k2] to end.
2nd rib row: P2, [k2,p2] toend.
These 2 rows form double rib.
Rib another 14 rows.

shape sides: Dec 1 st at each end of next row and 3 following 4th rows - (66) sts. Rib another 7 rows.

my question is: do i count every 2 rib rows as 1 row? thus when it says rib 14 rows i actually knit 28 rows? if so i did that and the thing was too long
if not, then which rows do i make the decreases exactly?

thanx i really appreciate it, cause i'm crappy at reading instructions

9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Tutorial: super simple felt cell phone cozy! NOW with tutorial on: December 27, 2004 12:03:14 AM
many of my totes don't have a pocket for a cell phone, so i came up with this idea for a cozy, you can hang the handle of the cozy on the handles of the tote which makes it easier to find the phone when it rings! i made this in just half an hour, and i will be posting a tutorial...

the fabric in the tutorial isn't felt, it's denim because i didn't have any felt left, i have also made these from foam and leatherette

1. This is the template for the 2 pieces:

2. cut your fabric according to the template, i used zigzag shears so the fabric won't fray and this way i didn't have to hem the edges.

3. embelish the front according to your taste Smiley you can use beads, felt, sublime stitching, applique... here a few examples:

4. place  the front and back pieces on top of eachother wrong sides facing:

5. attach from 3 sides leaving the top open, i used hand stitching but it would've been neater and faster with a machine

6. attach a snap on the top of the handle from the right side of the fabric, and the other part of the snap to the top right corner of the body of the cozy, i used a snap in the green cosy, and velcro on this one, the button is only decoraive, of course you can use a button or a ribbon as well

7. this is the finished cozy attached to a tote i made
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / my last knitted scarf this winte- NOW with hat!!!!! on: December 26, 2004 11:58:09 PM
since the beginning of the season i have been knitting and crocheting scarves like crazy, mostly as gifts, but i couldn't part with this one once it was finished...

it looks a different shade in the photos, but it's actually a very light pink with pink, blue and yellow spots on it.

the edging is crochet

i had some yarn left so i HAD to make a hat, i have to say these are the first matching hat and scarf i have ever owned Smiley and the first hat i have ever knitted!
