21  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / cute as a button! with a photo in it. on: February 27, 2008 04:57:30 AM
I bought this jar a while ago of loads of beads and buttons and this button was so cute I had to use it for something...

so I ripped out the gem (this ugly green thingy) and put in one of those tiny pictures from the sheet of em that you get when you send a bunch of photos to be developed.

Sorry 'bout the crappy pics, my camera is being senile and refusing to focus Cry

***EDIT TIME!***I made my button into a broach!

I really like how it turned out, I cant stop wearing it!!
22  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Roadrunner costume on: February 26, 2008 10:20:28 AM
Technically this isn't a Halloween costume but this seemed the most appropriate place for it since it is a dress up costume. We had a house party last year where everyone had to come as their favourite childhood cartoon character.

And I went as Roadrunner! How could I not?
Bought the top and skirt at a charity shop
Found some bright yellow leg warmers
attach from feathers to bum
apply blue paint to body liberally
and Voila!!

23  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / anime bottlecap buttons!! on: February 25, 2008 02:37:28 PM
Well hello! Smiley
I've been hoarding these bottlecaps for a while and I could'nt decide what to do with them, then I spotted my equally large hoard of anime pics cut out of magasines, so I thought I could combine the two! Here's the result...

I used the bottlecaps as a guide to cut out the pictures, only a little bigger than the top surface

Because the pics were bigger they curved around the cap when I PVAed 'em, then I stuck them to those buttons there...

And here's ones I made earlier! My favourites are the red & gold ones of Ed and Luffy. Enjoy!

24  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / screenprinted comic on: February 22, 2008 05:55:38 AM
I made this comic book two years ago for my course, but I like it so much I just had to put it up!

Its a comic book of short stories about... you guessed it, Urban Legends.

I wanted it to look pretty non-descript so It wouldn't look out of place wherever I left 'em; I left copies all around my town!

I like the images I did for it but the scaling down combined with the screen printing on a warm day (dried out the ink a bit) made the images not as clear. Undecided But at least know now for next time!

(by the way, does how do you change your photos from landscape to portrait? I can't find it on the faq)

25  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / bombardment of drawings! on: February 20, 2008 04:55:29 PM
Long time lurker, first time bombardment of arty things.

I love this site, there's so much cool and inventive stuff on here I figured it was 'bout time I contribute to the ol' melting pot!

a drawing of milo looking unusually thoughtful. (usually he gives the impression of having the cognitive power of a cucumber)

drawing of millie

drawing i did to go with this skipping rhyme:
369, the goose drank wine,
the monkey chewed tabbaco on the streetcar line,
the line broke, the monkey got choked
and they all went to heaven in a little row boat.

drawing i did for no reason at all...

and a close up of some of the dandelions there.

Thanks for looking at my first post, I hope I did everything right!
