21  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / mother's day/birthday card, 2 cards in 1! on: June 26, 2010 08:08:13 PM

My Mum had the unfortunate sense of timing to be born the day before Mother's day  Sad which meant that in my more thoughtless youth she got 2 presents but only 1 card (*ashamed*)  Embarrassed. So I decided to surprise her this year with a 2 in 1 card.

and both cards out of their mini envelopes.

she liked them, so i may try to do a variation on this next year too.

ps I know I'm posting this 2 months late but my internet has only recently got itself together...

25  U.K. AND IRELAND / ENGLAND / Re: Anybody from the Southwest of England? on: March 15, 2009 04:49:29 PM
Hi Everybody! Jodie reporting from Plymo here, and its so exciting to see there are people right near me who are secret crafters. Well you're not secret i suppose, i just have'nt met you.... Tongue

Aanyway, just wanted to let my locals know of a few local gems in case they have gone unnoticed...

Eldercrafts - great little craft store that mainly focuses on cardmaking; decoupage, stamping, but also have beadworking, sewing, and some great button bargain bags. They also run a cardmaking club above the store which i have yet to attend but sounds intruiging. They are @ no 10 in the Pannier Market in Town.

Ham & Sewells - in Armarda Center good selection of papers, tools, paints etc. and the instructional book section is small but...instructional.

Plymouth Play Association - The only thing resembling a scrap store i have located in this locality, i have yet to peruse it but it seems to get lots of leftovers from local companies and its open to schools, craft clubs or just your average crafty individual. The only problem with it is that its got some tricky opening hours - tue 10-2, wed 10-1 and thur 1-7.

Hope that is useful and that i'll see some of you @ one of these places!

Yeah, and it looks pretty cool. You'd have to be pretty brave to draw on there though, and resist painting over your mistakes all the time!
27  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / U.K. AND IRELAND / Re: UK crafters? on: January 01, 2009 04:26:12 PM
Hi, Rio from Plymouth here. So good to see so many people from the uk on here! Just thought i'd let people know that there's a Hobbycraft in Plymouth city center. It's got some really cool stuff in there, but I don't know how long its gonna be there as its based inside the woolworths and wont get nearly as much foottraffic now.  Cry

Also theres the scrap store calld the Plymouth Play Association at the bottom of Union street. I've not been in to check that one out yet, but according to the council webpage its for schools, craft clubs or just crafty individuals!  The post code - PL1 3HB. Opening hours - tuesday 10am-2pm, wednesday 10am-1pm and thursday 1pm-7pm.  Grin

I too like the first one best, the veil looks so delicate when it's being blown by the wind, and it's like the viel's frozen in mid gale.
