This is fantastic. Now I wish I had one. What are the figures made out of?
22  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Craft My Fandom Swap? on: February 20, 2015 12:11:16 PM
I'm so interested in this. It will be a great opportunity to gather items from fandoms that don't get much love. Are there any Douglas Adams fans out there? Or Animorphs? My secret pleasure teehee. I don't even know how it could be done, but Tomorrow When the War Began would be so amazing to see.

Wrong address? Oh no! What does that mean? I hope you still get it soon and it doesn't make its way back to me. Sigh. Crossing my fingers and hoping everything goes okay.

Wow, these packages are amazing. It is so amazing what everyone did with the same little tin. I absolutely love everything so far. Especially the dragon and th typewriter. Squee.

This is fantastic! Is the bag a part of the pillow or a carrying case? That is so cute. Perfect for a rock collecting sister.

I have no issues, just getting severe swap anxiety. I hope my partner likes what I made.
26  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: The Tick hat help on: February 12, 2015 04:57:25 AM
As far as I can tell, there is no pattern, but you could make your own. Just make a ski mask  blue. The antennas would be a bit more difficult, I would probably shift to crochet to do the little coney things. and sew them together. Also, your going to want to find a way to keep the wire from poking into the head of the wearer. I hope that helps.
27  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Tips for knitting a knockoff of this cardigan from Urban Outfitters on: February 12, 2015 04:46:31 AM
The vertical pieces look like they are done in a k1p1 ribbing. The main body looks like garter stitch. Most of it seems like simple squares. The pieces are mostly squares with some increases for the hood and decreases on the sleeves, if worked from the top down.

It looks super comfy, but by the time you buy the wool blend for that weight of yarn it seems you may as well just buy the sweater. Such is the trouble with sweaters. You would need tiny needles for this. I am thinking something like a US4. And you would want circulars so you wouldn't break your wrists with the large amount of fabric.
28  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Astrid's shirt naalbinding technique on: February 12, 2015 04:31:44 AM
I don't know the first thing about nail binding, but you could do something similar by making a stockinette shirt and then either alternate a purl row which might turn into bulky strips. I think it would be more accurate to the picture if you got a crochet hook and learned the chain stitch(super easy to learn) then appliqu it to a matching shirt. I don't know what would look best though.

Oh man, now I have swap anxiety. I wish the mail would hurry up. Stupid customs.

I love the little veggies and the cute little pocket they go in. Nice job on the dates on the passports. Looks like the Leuvres got their documents together. Smiley I can just imagine them going into a tiny govt building and waiting in a tiny line. Hehe
