1  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Re: Wizard of Oz art yarn -- a lot of yarn = a lot of pictures on: December 18, 2011 09:54:29 AM
I LOVE it! Not only is it a fabulous concept and a gorgeous product, it is ginormous! I also like the fact that you aren't a "dyed in the wool" Oz fan. Somehow that makes it's awesomeness even more so...

WMA-With the halo that cat yarn looks like crazy awesome mohair. Like mohair wearing mascara! I love it! It makes me want to chase my cats around with a hand card.

4  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Re: Icicle top vs. Firestar - opinions please! on: November 21, 2008 11:54:52 AM
Right now I prefer firestar to icicle because it acts more like fiber than the icicle. It blends in better and doesn't end up sticking out all over the place. Though I tend to spin roughly and a more skilled spinner probably gets a different result.
5  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Re: hemp fibre on: November 21, 2008 11:35:36 AM
The hemp I have in my stash is pretty long, about 3-4 inches. It's easy to spin, I also like blending it. It's also softer than I was expecting it to be. It's pretty hairy, which sort of translates into "toothyness" though I do like spinning it rough instead of smooth. If I were teaching someone to spin for the first time I don't it think it would be a problem.

Hey! Hope everybody's week was good, the yarns are lovely as always! Eternalsunshine, I think the green yarn is awesome, you'll be spinning up a storm in no time!

Skinny Sweets: angora, organic cotton, soy silk, mohair, thrown silk, tunis, shetland and cotswold (phew!)

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday! I'm a big fan of white lightning, noodle princess, it's a genius color combo. I only have one this week:

A no name tunis/romney/mill ends/sparkle mix

I second the nests! Those pink eggs are irresistible.

Here're mine. The pictures are crappy because I waited until after dark to take them. Ah well...viva la fiber friday!
Sticky Fingers: wool, mohair, sari silk, mill ends

Cold Snap: wool, silk, bamboo

10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Fender sweater on: October 12, 2008 10:37:15 AM
This is my first adult sized sweater. I spun the yarn from lambswool I bought from the Homestead Wool and Gift Farm; the lamb's name is Fender. My husband builds guitars as a hobby so that seemed like a sign or something. It's a little tight, but he loves it.
