The cakes in those pictures were made by FMIL and the flowers on top are silk.  We're going to get all our cakes from Sam's Club, hopefully... I've got to go by there and talk to the bakery about making 25 cakes - I've estimated about $150 plus our 2 tiered cake so we'll see how it works out.

My FMIL did the wrapped rafia and I think it looks awful.  I like the bows better because it's not too much, ya know?

I'm wiring the wreaths together so they don't slip...  That would be tragic!

I'm doing my card box tonight so I'll have to post it tomorrow.  Grin

I haven't really gotten into really making the stuff I need for my October wedding but I'm starting.

I had asked a question about my guest book and ended up with this:

I found an 8x8 scrapbook and recovered it with scrap paper.  I bought the felt (orange piece) on ebay and got the stickers for 50%.  I love how it turned out!

My centerpieces:

I'm having a cake on each of my 25 tables and had a hard time finding inexpensive cake plates so I came up with the idea of using stacked wreaths.  I got lucky and found some of them at Dollar Tree and the rest at Hobby Lobby for half off.  So instead of spending $20 each on glass stands I've got something more my style for less than $5 each!  I'm not sure about the raffia yet - I might be making felt bows instead.  I really don't like the second one where the raffia is wrapped - it's yucky!

Can't wait to share more pics with you gals!  Whatcha think?

We're not having one either - but we are having cake balls!  They're these little 2" pieces of cake that are frosted and stackable.

I think it's all a matter of preference...

I wanted to mention to all of that you Dollar Tree has a bulk department if you need larger quantities of stuff for your weddings.  It's dollartreedirect.com and they'll ship for free to your local store.  I've hit jackpot on the votives and stuff I need my reception!  Wink

I was going to say headband too - kind of like what Rami did on Project Runway for his collection... LOL  Smiley

I think some feathers sticking out would look good too and kind of complete the look.  I'm pretty sure you could make a tulle headband pretty easy.

Smiley You girls are so awesome!!!

First, I didn't even think to count the number of invites I would need per family, not per guest... DUH!   Shocked

I am going to go to one of the craft stores this weekend and get something like the brown folder I found and some stamps and play around.

After I recount my list... hehe

My invites are from Invitations by Dawn - we're getting married in October and I am absolutely in love with these: http://www.invitationsbydawn.com/We_ViewEns.cfm?sItemCode=WedEns6082&sCatalogCode=WedEnsDD&iStartRow=1&lCriteria=247&strcontinue=yes&strsearch=yes&format=WedEnsDDa
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Invitation questions... on: February 21, 2008 01:11:13 PM
So I was going to order my invitations and save myself the headache of making them.  I just went to price them and they were going to cost me over $350 and that's without reply cards or stamped envelopes, or shipping.  Ugh, right?   Angry

So, I found some other stuff from Paper Source that I like but I have questions...

1) If I use a chocolate brown card, can I stamp the front with orange or lime green and will it stand out?

2) Is it going to be cheaper to make my own?  I need about 250 invites...

3) What is embossing exactly?  Shocked
