1  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Room divider/folding wall on: July 18, 2008 04:30:26 PM
I am moving into a studio apartment and I need something to divide my sleeping quarters from the living room.

I like the chinese folding walls but they're rather pricey so I've decided to make my own!

I intend to use 3 or 4 body length mirrors to do it, but I have no idea how to go about hooking them together.  Hinges would be best so it can fold and such, but I don't really know how to use hinges.

Are they pretty simple?

Any instructions anywhere online?

2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / good (free) video editing program? on: April 12, 2008 09:11:20 PM
My father is in need of a good video editing program that is free.

He asked me, however, I have no idea.

I figured you craftsters are bound to know of a few downloadable programs that would be great!

4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Pink pearl earrings =) on: March 27, 2008 05:25:02 PM

Yay! The heart is made from copper wire, pounded flat with a hammer =)

I had a ton of fun making these. I <3 them!
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Dremel question.. on: March 27, 2008 09:34:52 AM
Last night I decided I would attempt to sand and polish my resin pendants using a dremel. Well, the sanding went fine, however, the polishing not so much. The little white polishing wheel actually shaved more resin off. So instead of polishing it, it just made it more milky looking.

Am I using the wrong piece to polish? There was a small white round piece that felt almost like felt. Then a bitter (but thinner) round piece with the same felt feeling. The instructions said it was the polishing piece, but I think it lied...

6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Lots of resin filled bottle caps! *pic heavy* on: March 09, 2008 05:08:24 PM
I'm new to resin so I figured this was the easiest way to master the art. Hehe.

The ones that have sets of 3 are going to be made into magnets when they're cured completely. I only made one each of the last 3 so idk what i'll do with them yet.

I couldn't get a decent picture of the two with the flower petals. They are my favorites. Darn camera!
7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Coheed and Cambria necklace on: February 26, 2008 11:32:18 AM
My friends boyfriend is a cheating jerk, so I made her a necklace to cheer her up! Coheed and Cambria is her favorite band.

I followed a tutorial that is floating around here somewhere, but I can't seem to find it at the moment.

It's just black polymer clay, a little piece of paper, and lots of modge podge and some chain!
8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Shrinky dink charms! on: February 12, 2008 12:47:33 PM
Pac man, chain chomp, and mushroom are for SO. The jack earrings i'm going to put on earring posts and give as gifts

These will become a charm bracelet.. or maybe a necklace if i can find some pretty beads to put between the charms.

And here is a shot of all of my new goodies!

9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Ahh! Orange monster! on: February 12, 2008 10:05:58 AM

Hehe. I made him for SO for vday.. but i'm thinking I may keep him for myself and make SO another one.

He's uneven, mainly because I hand sketched him onto a piece of felt then sewed without pinning, but hey! I think it gives him personality! Lol.

10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Poptart coin purses and ipod cozies! on: February 12, 2008 10:00:42 AM
Coin purse:

I have some bigger ones, also. They fit the bigger ipods, but could fit the smaller ones also. Just would be a bit roomier! Also great for putting credit cards and cash into.

It looks uneven in the picture, but IRL it's completely even. It's about the same size as a real poptart! lol.
