11  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Crochet and Burlesque? on: April 18, 2008 02:56:23 PM
Hi there, I'm in the process of making some crochet nipple tassles, yes, you read that right  Cheesy, and also a sort of knitted waist cincher and garter set, partly for a laugh, I've been inspired by my sisters love of burlesque. I think they would probably be too itchy to wear, but it might work, does anyone know if this has been done before, or has anyone seen it done? I am new to crochet, but want to give it a darn good try!
12  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Knitted Cocoons! on: April 18, 2008 09:03:45 AM
As part of my final project for my foundation year, I am going to knit a human sized cocoon, but here are some little prototypes! Done on the knitting machine and by hand, they are in my sketchbook, so the hessian you can see is the cover I made for it. Anyway, just wondering what you all thought, and if any of you have attempted something simmilar or have any knitting machine(grrr!) advice, I would love to hear form you!

14  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Birdy Fascinator UPDATED now image heavy on: February 10, 2008 05:52:45 AM
I just LOVE feathers, especially those long ones with the little bit on the end...gah! ANyway, my sister is having a burlesque phase and I said I would make her a fascinator, but this one went a bit more into my style than hers, I like antiquey things and she likes kitsch. The bird is felted over plastecine, the vings are lovely bead thingys I found in the bargain bin at hobbycraft and the rest speaks for itself, its feathers. Forgive the photos of my face, I just wanted to show how big it is.

And after my photoshoot with my lovely friend libby I have these to show you

Makeup, hair, ect by me Cheesy
15  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Exploding Soup! on: February 10, 2008 05:52:36 AM
Ok, so these things are a bit pointless, but they were fun to make, and what college demands, college gets. These are part of my food project and were based on my childhood hatred of meal times and how I used to sit and imagine all of the food just exploding up everywhere and me not having to eat it anymore. Well, it never happened, so I made it happen! All made with resin (its old hence the handy brown tint), wax, foam, tissue paper, string and broken crockery.
