11  Sparkly Jewelry Dish in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by classy broad on: January 06, 2015 08:31:43 AM
I haven't posted in forever! I've made a few things here and there, but have definitely been in a major creative rut. Luckily, I've been feeling really inspired lately, and one of my goals for the new year is to be more crafty.
Yesterday I whipped up a simple jewelry dish, using things I already had in my supply stash -- small white plate, mod podge & glitter. I finished the whole thing off with a few coats of clear acrylic.
First completed project of 2015!

12  pretty bird for my mama. in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by classy broad on: July 22, 2011 12:46:30 PM
my mom absolutely loves hummingbirds -- we even each have a tattoo of one. she lives in pennsylvania, and they are one of the things she loves most about visiting california.
i stitched this up on a scrap of pretty fabric -- the L is for Lisa, which is her name. <3

13  pears for proenzas. in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by classy broad on: July 22, 2011 12:42:30 PM
due to a wrist injury, i haven't stitched anything in a *looooong* time. now that i'm all healed up, i've been on a stitching rampage -- i've completed three projects in the past week!  Grin

i'm sending this tea towel off to my aunt and her family.

first completed project of 2011!!
my goal is to finish one project a week

i used patterns from "embroidered effects" & vital organs.
(not sure if you can see, but there are tiny purple stitches on the red veins, for extra detail)
a lot of firsts here: my first post in a long time & my first attempt @ chain stitch.

16  goodbye necklace, hello sweater clip. in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by classy broad on: July 11, 2010 09:27:58 AM
i got this awesome hello sailor necklace from work, but i already have a ton of necklaces. so, i took an old anchor charm (from another necklace i've never worn!), and made a sweater clip/brooch.

17  classy as f#@! -- cocktail napkins in Needlework: Completed Projects by classy broad on: July 10, 2010 11:32:05 PM
i got a set of adorable cocktail napkins on clearance from target a couple of years ago, but could never decide what to embroider on them.

then i got the idea to stitch something vulgar, to contrast with the cute, delicate napkins. i was originally going to stitch really girly patterns, but decided to stick with simple statements & pretty accents.

18  jewelry board. in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by classy broad on: December 31, 2009 04:28:23 PM
my small jewelry box is starting to overflow, and i needed a way to store my necklaces, without the chains getting all tangled.

so, i took an idea from bust magazine, and made a jewelry board.

i got a cheap bulletin board at target, painted the purple frame black & wrapped the cork in polka dot fabric.
i also coated a set of push-pins with black glitter.

19  Re: A crafty detective gallery of sneakiness!! in The Swap Gallery by classy broad on: May 19, 2009 11:45:29 AM
sorry it took me so long to post pictures!

these are my goodies from fadinghippie!

she sent me a sassy little "pinup-housewife kit", complete with apron [such awesome fabric! and it reverses to solid black], lingerie top made from 50s lace, thigh-highs with backseams & bows, and a vintage-y necklace!

a better shot of the top -- so saucy [and it fits perfectly]!

and a hand-painted hello kitty coin bank!

thank you so much, kat!
i love everything!  Grin

20  Re: Make Me A Reusable Shopping Bag Swap Round 2 - The Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by classy broad on: April 20, 2009 11:33:18 AM
sorry for posting pics so late!

i actually received *two* great packages from loralyn -- the first one spent some time in delivery limbo, so she kindly made me another set, but then the original arrived!  Cheesy

package 01: 2 really well-made bags [one "paper" and one "plastic", as loralyn described in her sweet note -- isn't that button so cute?], a keychain, a little zipper pouch [fun cherry lip balm included!], and a little notepad for list making!

package 02: 2 more bags! a structured tote, and a singlet that folds up into that cute little pocket [if i can figure out how to do that again! Cheesy]

she also sent me a yummy chocolate truffle bar!
thanks loralynGrin
