Here is Carrie's bag by Christina Caruso.

Edited to add:

Here is a thread about how to attach handles: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=101964.0

I hope it helps. You don't have to cast onto dowels, you sew them on after the knitting is finished.

4  Dolls rock!!! Even my first one :) in Crochet: Completed Projects by RedStitch on: June 26, 2006 07:12:47 AM
Here is my first doll and my first crochet project. I used the cheapest Red Heart acrylic yarn. The doll is washable and child friendly, I did not put any beads or buttons, so there is nothing to take off and swallow. It was a gift for my newborn niece (the second picture).

If you need any help with figuring out the pattern, let me know, I am a Russian speaker. I just do not have time to translate the whole pattern.

I used Gedifra Korfu, bought it at Big Lots for 2.99/skein. Here is how the skein looks:

- I just had a different color. I also used #4 needles. Sorry I can not remember, how much yarn I used. I remember going back to buy more, but I made a purse, too.

Is anyone interested in a knitalong? Should we start a new thread for this top?

- my swatch. I did not decide for the color yet... The part with yos seems to be a little too small on my swatch... I need to re-check the pattern.

googoojue, your bag is adorable!

hitbyabus,  thank you for your responce? I need to check out that store. I am wondering if anyone had done the top by a leathermaker, too. I know a local leathermaker but scared to imagine how much it may cost.

I am thinking about this idea of the top:

The whole discussion is here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=31017.0

I might actually work for our bag, too! You can play with shape...

Just wanted to share a crochet-along results from a Russian forum. Here is the original skirt by Patrizia Pepe whoever she is. It was in a magazine.

Here are skirts made by girls from the forum:

Isn't it cool? Those girls are very talented. They inspired me to make this skirt, too.

10  What kind of technique is this? in Felting: Discussion and Questions by RedStitch on: April 05, 2006 08:19:03 AM
Here is a handbag. I am trying to figure out how to make it. I have a feeling it has to do with felting. How is it not falling apart? I just tried wet felting myself, but I do not think it is wet felting... Any ideas?
