She did an AWESOME job!  Who is to judge what is "current" style anyways?  How about they ditch that and give an extra point for creativity.  Bravo for doing her own thing and doing it so well!

17  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Simple shower curtain for us new to sewing on: June 24, 2008 03:13:14 PM
I am still learning not to get flustered with my machine and came up with this great project.  I found this great vintage twin top sheet at the thrift store for 2$.  I don't have a twin bed so I measured out my shower curtain rod and determined that it would make a great fit without having to cut much off.  I stitched down a few inches on the top to give it a little weight to hang from.  I took about 8 inches off the bottom but really should have only taken about 4, leaving it a little short but still cute.  I have a plastic cover behind it.  It took about 10 minutes to do.  Hope you guys like it and try it out as a project if you are new to sewing Smiley

18  COOKING / Dessert / Simple Goomba Cake for a stressed out boy.. on: June 24, 2008 02:34:27 PM
My boyfriend was under a lot of school stress so I made him this goomba cake from scratch.  The second picture is of the whipped up icing Smiley

The cake is vanilla based and the icing is vanilla and vanilla mixed with coco powder.  the eyes and mouth are cut up dove bars.  Triangle pyrex pan, small bowl, and two cupcakes for the body.
