1  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Completed Projects / Skater print on: October 31, 2010 01:05:48 PM
Screen-printed onto some kind of thick poster board. It is an edited picture of my little brother that I took three or four years ago and I decided to print it. This is the first screen-print that I've done in almost a year, I'm pretty happy with it  Grin

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / A musical dress on: September 14, 2009 08:22:47 PM
I've been working like crazy to get some things done for my portfolio and this is a little something I came up with. Although it isn't anything too special, I love this dress. I didn't use a pattern, just a whole heck of a lot of trial and error.

(The pictures were taken by my friend, Erin, who truly has a gift for the camera.)

I'd love to hear what you think!  Grin
3  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Little Zombie Bear (ZB for short) on: November 10, 2008 05:59:17 PM
This is my first ever attempt at amigurumi, or any crochet item that isn't a big long rectangle of single crochet stitches. He's very imperfect, but after several failed attempts I think he looks so cute. I used ournew's tutorial for Kerochan here https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=169562.0. I made some pretty obvious changes.

He's for a friend of mine who is away at basic training for the reserves. Everyone here misses her a lot, and we won't get to see her until Christmas. Of coarse, I can't wait until Christmas to give him to her, so after I take a few more pictures of him with a few of her friends I'm shipping him and the pictures off to her so she can enjoy him now (and to know everyone back home loves her).  We named him ZB, mostly because we have little imagination.  Wink

Enough chit-chat! On with the pictures!

(he's a bit of a gamer)
4  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Completed Projects / Silver Sparrows on: October 09, 2008 04:09:55 PM
This is my second successful screen print. My first one I sold to kids at school and they turned out to be a total hit so I'm excited to be making more.

So, what do you guys think?
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / My first hoodie!! on: August 01, 2008 11:37:56 PM
I made this a while ago actually... but i want to show it off because i never wear it out. The shirt was on sale at Hottopic and i bought it for my boyfriend. it never made it to him because i was feeling rather creative and it was the first shirt i could get my hands on.
it was my first time sewing a hood, zipper, pockets, and sleeves. i'm proud of it.
i used some really cheap and thin black fabric for the sleeves and hood and i'm thinking of taking it apart and using some better fabric and maybe even line it. YEAH! so here are my pictures:

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / pants to shorts and a waist cincher on: July 31, 2008 06:08:03 PM
My friend gave me an old pair or pinstripe pants she had and i turned them into shorts and a waist cincher (i'm not really sure that's the right name for it).

here are the pants:

and the shorts:

They're just cut offs and you can see the chalk where i marked the length i wanted them to be. I made them a little longer.

Here is the under bust corset waist cincher thing:

and then another picture just for kicks:

sorry the picture angles are so weird, i had to take the pictures myself.

I'd love to hear what you think!  Grin
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / T-shirt to hooded shirt on: July 22, 2008 12:16:36 AM
made from scrap fabric and an extra plain black t-shirt. i feel like it is missing something, but i don't know what. the lace is not part of the shirt (i didn't make the lacy thing either).

comments? suggestions? i'd love to hear them!
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / I always pick the ugliest fabrics... on: June 23, 2008 01:39:32 PM
it's like a curse!

But, despite the ugly pattern, this is the first (wearable) dress that I've complete and I can't help but be a little proud of it.

sorry there are no action pics, I don't have anyone around to help me take pictures.
9  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Dinosaur shirt on: June 23, 2008 01:32:56 PM
My friend and I decided that her drawings were just too cute, and had to be put onto some shirts. This is our very first stencil that we did together, and we both love it to death! Hope you guys like it, too! Grin
We used laminating paper and some cheap fabric paint from the craft store.

and here is my friend modeling it after we cut it up a little bit.

thanks for looking!
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Dinosaur Jr. tank top (quite a few pics) on: February 23, 2008 02:42:54 PM
I started out with an x-large purple Dinosuar Jr. t-shirt that I had and a little green shirt that I ran by and picked up at Goodwill. I'm so excited about it, I wore it to a Tiger Army concert a while back.

i also had a little bit of help from the whatthecraft.com tutorial.

The back has a GIGANTIC pleat in it because i made it too big at first.

Sorry that I don't have any action shots. Let me know what you guys think! Grin
